Looks like Bernie McGlade has been getting after it.

Now the League has deals with NBC Sports Network, ESPN and CBSCCCCP Sports network.

I still trying to figure out if I like her or not as our commish. TV deals are fun, but Fordham is still in our conference.

Titanman, I know we women appear to be miracle workers but some things truly are beyond our reach. I'm betting Fordham is with the A-10 until they decide to leave or the league ceases to exist.

The financial terms are not disclosed. I'd like to know what they are before I decide how good I think the deal is. It's great that we're getting more air time. However, of the 146 games that are going to be aired, not all of them are conference games. If Xavier is playing Duke on ESPN, and ESPN is counting that as one of the A10 games, how much money is Fordham getting??

The Financial terms are key. But if they are ever released, I hope they are done with more clarity than they have used for the number of games. I do not believe there are 146 games to be televised per season but 146 "exposures" including the A-10 championship. Looking at the number of games committed to each network it seems each game is equal to 2 "exposures" for the league (since there are 2 A-10 teams being "exposed" during a televised conference game). I doubt the league would be negotiating OOC games.

We'll see about Fordham - the good news there is that Frank McLaughlin is no longer AD there.

What you said and triple it. Hell, we're going to play in the tournament in Brooklyn. Does it make sense to get rid of Fordham???

I believe home OOC games are part of the package.

Personally I like that the conference is working with multiple media networks.

The Financial terms are key.

The financial terms that were reported today were $5M/year for the 8-year deal, so a total of $40M. That works out to about $312k per school each year.

If the A-10 (errr 16 or whatever) is willing to do it, I would gladly purchase the following:

An A-10 App that allowed me to watch every A-10 conference game (and tournament) from my computer/tablet/phone. A-10 could keep all the money from such a thing I assume?

I'd gladly pay $75-130 per season. Think of the people who can't get games, because they don't live in a tv network area or have a high enough cable tier for NBCSPORTS.

I know that Oregon has a pretty cool setup where you pay for access and then can watch a lot of their sports games live and in HD (and they are archived and you can go back later and re-watch anything you want) and I think the most expensive package is around $30/year. Sounds like a cool idea.

Do you think we could make more money fielding a FCS football team and letting people pay us as buy games?

Apparently the new media deal does not cover digital rights... so maybe it's possible.

This is the best a non football conference can really do but its still not that good...For instance, the Big East Bball only teams make about $4mil/year.

This pretty much ensures that a break off conference featuring the best bball only teams, at least a conference including bball only teams from the BE, will never happen anytime soon.
