Get Real Sports Sales (GRSS) and Xavier University Athletics have announced a partnership for the 2012-2013 season. The main goal is for GRSS to increase group and season ticket sales across all ticketed sports. GRSS, a results driven, outsourced ticket sales firm, will provide an on-site ticket sales staff in an effort to meet and exceed mutually agreed upon ticket sales goals.

Translation - someone from India or Jamaica will be selling season tickets over the phone, though.

I'm assuming you joke, but it's actually a legit operation. They'll train staff (real live Americans) and call on former season ticket holders, ticket pack buyers, single game buyers, group ticket prospects...basically all the stuff professional sports teams do, but colleges can't afford to so they outsource it to companies like this or IMG or PMI or one of the other growing ticket sales companies. It's no surprise X has joined the list.
What interests me most is the timing. Sales for sports aside from men's basketball have always been less than stellar at X and no doubt they anticipate men's bball sales dipping this year given the events of the last 9 months and a season that is expected to be rocky to put it mildly. Good for them being proactive. And if they're going to sign with one of these companies, you might as well sign on with one run by an X guy.
