I'm not sure how this competition works,but I think they play 2 days of regular scoring to set a field of match play for the weekend.
So maybe all you need to do is make the cut and things start over.

essentially correct--36 holes of stroke play to set seeding for match play; he played the Common Ground course yesterday and plays Cherry Hills today. 64 players qualify for match play so after round 1, he stands on the cut line.

He has played very well all summer after rehab from knee surgery
