Don't look now, but Andy Pope is only 4 shots back of the lead going into the final round of the Nationwide Tour's Mexico Open.

Lock and Load, Andy!!!!

Good, solid Tournament in Mexico for Andy.

-2 today. -10 for the Tournament, a tie for 6th and won about $19,000.

Maybe the start of something BIG!

Andy shot a sweet 69 yesterday in this weeks Nationwide Tour, loops, sorry, Web.com Tour event in Newburgh, Indiana and is tied for 7th, 4 shots back.

He's a bit ahead of Jason Kokrak at this early stage of his career.

BTW. 2012 X Graduate Sebastian Maclean is trying to qualify for the Latin American PGA Tour this week and shot a 68 yesterday. Go S!

You think? I guess Pope had a little better first half this year than Kokrak did last year, but Pope has to win twice the second half of the year to keep up. Kokrak also dominated that eGolf Tour in a way that I don't think Pope ever dominated a mini-tour.

It's good to have both guys out there in good positions, though. They might trade places next year unless Jason has a big second half on the big Tour or kills it at the end of the year at Nationwide events.

Gawd. Time flies. Thought that Pope was younger than Jason. Turns out he's 28.

I'd better do some better fact checking on myself.

Meanwhile, Andy Pope is now 2 under today and tied for 15th in the 3rd round of the Web.com Utah Open. He's making a move and is putting himself in position for a nice check.

Andy finished with a strong 67 and a 12 under tournament to finish tied for 7th in Utah.

The tourney will be in Golf Channel tonight on delay.

Nice job. Hopefully this will get him going for the rest of the year.

This gets him to low to mid 60s on the money list. Big move from the high 80s.

Goes to show you the difference between the Big Tour and the Web.com Tour.

Tie for 7th in Utah: $17,700. Tie for 7th in John Deere: About $140,000.

The importance of Top 60 to Andy is (a) entry to Web.com Tour Championship with larger purse at year end and (b) status on Web.com for 2013. He still has plenty of work to do this year and has been playing solidly for 3 months; needs strong finish like a couple more top 10 finishes.
