Goodman surprised how secretive the visit was yesterday.
Its either Kentucky or Arizona. Arizona might just be too far.

Good for Mark. And keeping it quiet is even better.

I'll never have to feel guilty about disliking Lyons if he goes to Kentucky. So that's a plus.

Apparently he's going back down to Lexington again tonight. Thank god it's not exam week so he doesn't have any finals to try and pass.

He must have hit it off with his escort.

If Calipari wants him at Kentucky, I don't see any reason why Lyons would turn him down.
He chooses Arizona over Kentucky, it will be for reasons other than basketball.

Ryan Harrow is one reason. He sat out last year because of transfer and is thought to be the starting point guard at UK for the upcoming season.

I don't think Calipari cares about Ryan Harrow.
He was a 5 star recruit on both Scout and Rivals. He had decent stats his freshman year at NC State. Calipari may prefer Lyons to run point, but my point is that I don't think it's a given that UK has a definite starting spot at PG open for Lyons.
I could be way off on this.

Let me rephrase -- I don't think Calipari cares who he already has on the roster if he thinks he can land a comparable or better player.

True. I feel like if UK wants him, he will go there. Why not? Lexington is beautiful, national championship contender, and playing point is a possibility. I just don't really like UK much so I wouldn't want him to win there...

Unless he is concerned about playing time. Imagine what a disaster it would be if he left Xavier for his final season and then didn't even start because this Harrow guy turned out to be better.
Lyons is a talented player, no doubt, but he also is very streaky and commands a lot of shots. He needs a team where he can shoot through bad streaks. Having a 5 star player sitting behind you gives you less of a margin for error than you would have at a school like Arizona who doesn't have as many options at PG. If Lyons goes through one of his 3-4 game streaks of inefficient offensive play at Kentucky is Calipari going to bench him?

Good for you Mark. Nothing but the best.
Here's hoping you force the UK trash to admit that Xavier had one hell of a basketball player.

FWIW, ESPN insider says he is in Tucson and is likely to end up at Arizona as it gives him the best opportunity to play PG.

Just as I suspected (as I say this he is probably flying back to Lexington)

To be fair to Sean, he never said that he couldn't win one at Xavier. He sat his fat a$$ in front of our back drop, on our dime and said that it would be "easier" to win a National Championship at Arizona. In fact, he thought it was so easy to do that he thought he didn't even have to make the dance in order to win it. So, what we can conclude from this is that Sean is a lazy, always coughing, a$$ who must always take the path of least resistance because he's lazy and his constant coughing gets in the way of coaching wins.
On a side note, if Arizona is as scary good as everyone is predicting they will be next season, it will irritate to me until the end of time if Sean wins a NC with Mark Lyons running the point.

As much as I have not always liked Lyons, I have always thought he was really skilled and hoped he could get that chip of his shoulder. Having said this, it would also really bother me if AZ won a championship or made even a Final 4 run w/ Lyons running the point.
I know I should be better than that but it would really piss me off.

I have to say, I'm curious to see what Lyons does as a starting PG. His decision-making has been pretty suspect at times and he doesn't look for other players enough, but that could be partially a product of him playing the 2 instead of the 1. He also is prone to extended streaks of very inefficient play.
Lyons has to be a tough player to coach. He can do amazing things at times, but at other times he can absolutely kill you. How many times last year did Lyons play a terrible first half only to come back and score 15+ in the second half? It's tough to bench him because you never know when he is going to go off, but when he is 2-10 in the first half that is a lot of shooting and not a lot of scoring.
The talent isn't an issue for him, the decision making is. The big question is whether or not he is capable of improving on it.

Even though college basketball is wide open next year (Indiana and Louisville could be 1 and 2).....that is sad.
I don't think you will have to worry about Lyons heading to a final four if he lands with Arizona. Kentucky is another story. However, if he goes to Kentucky, Harrow will most likely start.

From his twitter it looks like Mark has left Cincinnati (sounds like for good) and one hour ago was headed to Tuscon.
