I'd be pretty surprised if impermissable phone calls are all that's going on down in Waco.

Something tells me that very little, if anything, will be done by the NCAA in addition to what has already been self-imposed.
They became a powerhouse basketball program for the first time a few mere years after going through the most disgusting scandal I had ever heard of in college sports at the time. They recruit at the highest level. I've always thought it sounded just a little too good to be true.

Thank God that Scott Drew nor any of his players say swear words. That is what is important.

If coach Cal gets into trouble again and Baylor must vacate wins, we'll be in the FF !!

I'm just wondering if the Baylor women's team will face sanctions for having a man on the team. No way Griner is female.

"The report concluded that Drew demonstrated a "failure to monitor" of the activities of two of his assistant coaches and that there also was an overall "failure to monitor" by the institution, which found 405 additional impermissible calls and text messages from nine different sports, ranging from football to the equestrian program, from January-July 2011, during its investigation".
Actually I'm very impressed that even their horses know how to text message and make illegal phone calls. :D
PS: I dont want to know where those horses carry their phones.

Easy now, this isn't UDPride where we clamor to back our way into a greater postseason finish.

Don't laugh - it was a rogue tennis program that got Boise State on the NCAA radar last year.

Reminds me of the time that Xavier actually won two back-to-back indoor polo championships (NCAA) in the 70's.

How can you possibly have a rogue tennis program...in Idaho? Seriously.

This is how:
NCAA.com Link (http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/connect/public/NCAA/Resources/Latest+News/2011/September/Boise+State+cited+for+major+violations+in+five+spo rts)
Letting one of their players play for a 5th season would be one reason. How was she listed on her bio - senior senior?

Sarah Palin was doing all their recruiting!
Heard she had a great connections with a Russian program that wasn't far from her house.

Sarah was too busy securing the border and getting experience in international relations.

I'm still trying to figure out Baylor. I thought Ken Starr was their president.
That's kinda not cool, IMO.
Why not? I get that Griner is extremely dominant and all, but I mean come on. He's playing against a bunch of chicks. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if he's on steroids, what with the multiple bouts of rage he's shown in games before. I just don't know how Baylor gets away with it with all their programs.
I'll appreciate RG3 though!

I think sometimes we forget these athletes are humans too and saying stuff like that can hurt people. Players get on and read stuff and it cant feel good to have people always making such childish comments such as yours.
Chances of Griner reading this on xavierhoops.com is probably slim to none but nonetheless it is highly inappropriate in my eyes.

Something tells me that very little, if anything, will be done by the NCAA in addition to what has already been self-imposed.
As usual in these matters, Brew is on the mark with his prediction:
CBSSports.com - Baylor will face no further punishment from NCAA (http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/blog/eye-on-college-basketball/18473685/baylor-will-face-no-further-punishment-from-ncaa)
In short, their already-imposed penalties of reduced scholarships and reduced recruiting visits were sufficient in the eyes of the NCAA. No real shock here - the bigger issue currently facing the NCAA Infractions Committee isn't Baylor, it's Miami's ongoing investigation into their football and basketball programs and their rogue booster (Shapiro, I believe).
