8-0 in the tourney. X, Ohio, UC and OSU all in the Sweet 16. First time four teams from one state made the Sweet 16. Nice!

I'm conflicted. Do we cheer for UC or OSU? We need a no win game.

You cheer for a meteor to hit the arena.

Actually, if it hits the ground it is called a meteorite ;)

But seriously, beyond the loss of innocent non- UC or OSU fan lives, that is exactly what we need.

"Don't F with the State of Ohio"

That would take out Syracuse, too. So I'm for this.

Ohio St...not sure if anyone else heard Cronin postgame. But, when asked a question he made a comment "MY kids are good kids..." Mick is an a$$. Go Bucks!

With all the local flavor in the Seeet 16, it got me thinking about addin another exempt tournament to the slate. Have 8 teams out of the list of 10 in the tournament each year and rotate locations each year (Conseco, Riverfront Collesium, nationwide Arena and somewhere in KY). Yes, I threw Dayton in as a rotation team, maybe even do the same for NKU once they are in Div 1. If there was any way to get bESPN and a corporate Sponsor (KOI Auto Parts) behind this tournament, I would think it would be amazing. Maybe we should get Mario on top of this.

Dayton

I think it would be better to remove Dayton and add one of the "other" KOI schools that is supposed to be good that year to the tourney. Could be a Murray St.; Ohio U., Akron, Western Ky., Valpo, etc. Dayton would fit in to that group as well.

I have already hit several conflicts in the tourney. The Gonzaga game was an example. I decided midway during the game that I hated Zag fans more, and mostly because they wanted police protection for their players at our game. I will not be conflicted for the UC game. Go... uh... the team playing UC.

Ohio State needs to crush sUCks.

Come on Thaddeus. Have them ready to roll.

Anyone else find it interesting 2 of the other 3 Ohio schools have a former Muskie as their head coach?

Our coaching tree has extended far and wide, and having more success each season.

My son was getting ticked off at me the other day when they would talk about this coach or that coach or this announcer and that announcer and I kept saying, "that guy used to be an assistant at Xavier". It is amazing the influence our school has had on the college basketball landscape.

FWIW, Dante Jackson is one of the assistants at Ohio now as well. Saw him in the postgame locker room celebration on t.v.

I would prefer to see OSU win, at least their coach came from X, and I hate UC more.

As long as X wins, I don't care if OSU and UC decide to gangbang a goat at mid-court!

On the Matta call in show today in Columbus, some yahoo called in and said 'with all of these sweet 16 members in the state of Ohio why don't we schedule any of them?!'

Matta's response was classic.. long pause. Then, 'Well, they're not in our conference' then changed the subject.

Even beaknose knows not to mess with this state.

Seven Midwestern teams in the Sweet 16 have something in common: a hatred of one another

Matta is otherwise a fountain of tranquility in this region. He used to coach Xavier and is still well regarded there even though Ohio State staged a painful comeback on the Musketeers in the 2007 NCAA tournament.

Not so sure about that...

By well regarded, he means that we hardly ever give him a second thought.
