A Unique Season

No matter when the current edition of the Xavier basketball Musketeers finish their season, one thing will be certain: It will be as near to a unique season as it can be in every sense of that word.

I thought when the 2004-05 season, Sean Miller's first as head coach of the Muskies, had finally been completed on a 17-12 note, that I had seen and read it all as far as unbelievably vicious comments on the internet about a Xavier head coach. Boy was I wrong.

The 2011-12 campaign on-line rhetoric, especially the snide and often nasty remarks about Chris Mack and many of his players, made 04-05 seem rose colored and genteel. In fact, bastardizing Winston Churchill, never have so many Muskies hoopsters been so savaged by so few fans.

In fact, a good friend asked me Sunday night after the selection show, “What the hell do some of those bloggers and so-called XU fans want?” My answer was: “When I figure it out I'll let you know, but don't hold your breath waiting.” (read more (http://www.xavierhoops.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21798))
