You forgot to mention that they had to forgo their home game so that four teams not related to Dayton Basketball can use their arena.

Seriously Dayton, there are no arenas in Dayton you could rent for your NIT game. Recall X took a game back to Schmidt Fieldhouse rather than give up home court.

Can't put it in the old fieldhouse because the basketball court was ripped up several years ago when the old student rec center was converted to the basketball practice facility. It's now a volleyball only arena. The Nutter Center is a possibility, but no one wants to play a home game on another schools campus. Only other arena with much size is Trent Arena at Fairmont HS, the host of Flyin to the Hoop. Seats just shy of 4,000. Probably not worth the rent.

Just play on the road and get it all over with, although they would get a home game if they beat Iowa. This team has too little depth to find a silver lining in just playing in the postseason, the only guy who may truly gain something is Devin Oliver. The only reason I'll watch is to see Chris Johnson at least one more time, and to make damn sure Luke Fabrizius' career ends.

La Salle will benefit from the NIT. UD just needs to get the freshmen on campus, incorporate the two transfers, rehab Benson, and dive into offseason workouts/added practice time ASAP.
