UC's inclusion is certainly not set in stone. Home game against a very good Marquette team and at Villanova...that and an RPI that likely wont get out of the 70's.

I was listening to the game driving back from Cincy.
Dan Hoard is the angriest play by play guy ever. He really seems to believe that every referee has it out for SucKS- either because they never call a foul on the other team when the Borecats are on offense or because they are always calling fouls on SucKS when they are on defense.
He made a comment today that the Borecats would wrap up a bid with a win against South Florida. What? They played the 322 ranked non-con schedule and lost 3 of those games and they are about 75 in the RPI now. I don't think so.
YTG pulled his usual "We tried to tell 'em, but they don't listen" card after the game that basically blames the players and takes any responsibility off him. He did later lamely did say that "we coaches have to do a better job", but then went right back to his script.
Every thing about that school in Clifton's basketball program just makes me sick. No way I can ever hope they win, even if it peripherally helps Xavier.
It's 6:55pm, February 26,2012....and SucKS still sucks. 76-53. That's all you need to know.

this was a great day.....I put money on the Bearcats (I always bet on the team Xavier plays as well as the Bearcats on with whomever they play)
anyway, the spread was +2 and I said boy if they could lose by 1 point I would be ecstatic.....I couldn't believe it worked out that way.
Yeah, if they lose their next 2 they might be in need of a couple Big Least tourney wins.
I would think this South Florida win maybe gets them in instead of sUCks if it came down to the wire and both teams are desperate for bids.

Can anybody explain to me how the Boreccats get to play 31 games? They did not play in an exempt tournament and I thought that there was a limit of 27 games along with 3 exempt in-season tournament games.
If you don't play in an exempt tournament, I thought the limit was 29 games?

Arkansas Pine Bluff and Chicago State are so utterly awful that they don't count toward the limit.

Probably not- South Florida, while they have a good conference record, has fed off the bottom dwellers of the Big East. UC is all but in with 5 top 50 RPI wins. IMO, they need to win just one more game, including the Big East tournament. Stinks- but the bubble is just that bad. I am at least crossing my fingers that UC has to play the play-in game.

That's a good question - is it possible that three of their buy games were part of some farcical "invitational" perhaps leading to the Oklahoma game? I don't see any sign of it on UC's website, though.

Yeah I know its wishful thinking. Never mind I found out Seton Hall was the 5th Top 50 win.
The thing that kills UC is the 10-3 nonconference record, and losses at home to St. Johns (sucks), Marshall (not that good), and Presbyterian (terrible). The blowout loss to a mediocre Xavier team probably doesn't help too much either.

Yeah I know its wishful thinking. Who is their 5th top 50? UConn, Notre Dame, Georgetown, Louisville....who is the other?

The 320 ish ranked schedule absolutely kills them. If UC drops the Marquette and NOVA games they are in big, big trouble. They would have an RPI south of 80 and an awful schedule. The committee will not look kindly on the fact that they played such a bad schedule. Not to mention they have only like 5 wins against teams with a winning record.

I don't mind Dan Hoard too much. Chuck Machok is a tool. We listened to part of the pregame on the way to the Home and Garden show Sunday, and Chuck made no sense at all.
I like to listen to those guys to remind me how good we have it with our radio team.
I ran into Andy Mac at the Home and Garden show. He is just an all around nice guy. We wound up talking about hot tubs for a few minutes.
