Ok,
What does everybody do for their significant others on Valentines Day?

Or do you both have an agreement that Valentines Day is silly.

I'm really looking to be entertained here, to maybe get some ideas, but what I really want is some Fresh Beat Band tickets in March. I would love to send my wife, her mom, and my daughter to this concert, and give them these tickets for Valentines Day. Unfortunately, the tickets sold out awhile ago, and now stubhub is asking at least 100 bucks a ticket.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking for free tickets....just a more reasonable price.

Anybody have a hook up for the Taft Theatre? I figured this was at least worth a shot.

Or, I could just find out how romantic Kahns and Xeus are on or around February 14th.

This is NOT good gladden. If your wife, her mom, and your daughter know who the Fresh Beat Band is....I must be REALLY old. I've never heard of them.

First of all, Fresh Beat Band rocks! We do not have tickets to the show because I abhor the Taft, but if they had been at the Aronoff or Music Hall I would haven't taken little LadyMuskie. Here We Go and Like a Rockstar are staples in this house.

Secondly, we do not celebrate big on Valentine's Day. My husband surprised me this year by getting my mom and dad to watch our daughter on the 13th so we can go to dinner and a movie. We don't do jewelry and flowers and spending thousands of dollars on Valentine's Day. And since we once waited almost 2 hours for our seats at a restaurant where we had reservations on Valentine's Day, we no longer eat out that night either. I don't dislike it as much as Sweetest Day, but it's a close second. My favorite part is making Valentines with my daughter and giving them to her friends, grandparents and godparents.

Do you get Nickelodeon on your cable/satellite? You can check them out - they're on every day! They're a kids show, but they actually produce music that isn't terrible. Some of it is actually pretty good. Maybe not Grammy Award winning, but it isn't bad like Barney or The Wiggles.

Grandkids don't live in city, so no Nickelodeon in our house. My girls probably know all about this band.

If I have to watch Nick Jr. I don't mind watching Dora, Diego, Bubble Guppies, Team Umuzoomi, or Fresh Beat Band.

Wait! No Max & Ruby?!?! :p

I think Fresh Beat Band is the best out of all of those. I don't mind Bubble Guppies or Diego, but Dora and Team Umizoomi I can only take in very, very, small doses. Dora's voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

I will be getting drunk and playing craps, my typical Valentines day celebration. I am way to cynical about love to celebrate even if I was dating some.

The Japanese have 2 Valentines Days. One is White Valentines. The other is Black Valentines. One is for guys to gals. The other is for gals to guys. 2/14 and 3/14. White features white chocolate. Black features milk chocolate. It isn't necessarily for significant others. It is all the gals your know or all the guys you know. It is very, very commercial and people buy stuff so they don't feel guilty. Oh wait... same as here.

They need a third day...guys to guys, gals to gals.
Then they could use those striped hershey kisses.

One of these days, I am hoping that Dora's backpack --- backpack (you must sing the last two words to get the full effect) has been fitted with the wrong damn map and she becomes lost forever. Either that or she is eaten by the hungry version of Swiper the fox.

Maybe if Dora was like this (http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/tv-funhouse-maraka/84996/) I wouldn't mind watching it.

Luckily (for me, at least) my kids have absolutely no interest in the fresh beat band. They're partial to Backyardigans, which isn't bad.

Every year I think we've "agreed" that valentines isn't a big deal, then every year, I get in trouble because I don't make a big deal out of it. 2/14 is a lose-lose for me.

My wife's birthday is on Valentine's day.

It's not a bad as it sounds though because she really isn't big on receiving gifts, or grand romantic gestures for that matter so she doesn't expect a whole lot. Just one of the benefits of setting the bar low...

C'mon Glow, you know that's not how I roll. If I am involved in a 3 Way, that has no spaghetti present, then it is with 2 chicks.

Nuts doesn't fornicate with the same gender...

I'd like to credit Hallmark for completely manufacturing a romantically themed holiday on the feast day of a man who had his head chopped off.

Celebrate it the way it should be celebrated. A shot and a beer for everyone who was murdered in the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre. It's actually more in line (although maybe not by much) with the guys who were beheaded back in ancient Rome than buying someone a heart shaped box of chocolates.

It's called marketing. And a damn good job at that!

Nuts, they won't let me rep you for that one but it's the best laugh I've had today. Consider yourself triply repped. q:D:D:D

For dinner last Friday, I stopped and got lobsters and cheese fondue and we did a big romantic dinner at home. I got flowers and referred to it as our Valentines dinner. I think I'm in the clear, but history says I'm in trouble if I don't do something else tomorrow.

I'm glad that this thread got bumped. I forgot tomorrow was Valentine's day. Looks like I will be stopping at Walgreens on the way home tonight.

Does Walgreens have a special on Valentine's Day Snuggies/Forever Lazys?

Over the last month Dan Patrick has pounded into my head that I should order from Berries.com (http://www.berries.com/). He had some on his show a week or two ago, and they looked pretty dang good. I ordered some stuff from there, while planning on eating most of it. I watch the Scott Van Pelt show in the afternoon. SVP has been telling me to order flowers from ProFlowers.com (http://www.berries.com/). I am a advertiser's dream. So I ordered some roses from there, and had them sent to my wife's office.

We'll go out to eat on Wednesday night as well. Dinner on Valentine's Day night is just a mess.

Adam Carolla has been pimping both of those sites hard on his podcast as well. It's like a Shari's Berries and Proflowers media blitz.
