Dayton starting this game in a full-court press; Xavier is going to have a very difficult time with only 7 bodies in this one.

I was at the game and it was the tale of two halves.

In the first half, we turned the ball over constantly, allowed too many easy baskets, and missed too many shots of our own. Dayton pretty much ran all over us.

In the second half, it's like the teams switched uniforms. We were energized, aggressive, and seemed to play with a purpose. We shot 60%, aggressively went after UD defensively and caused them to miss most of their inside shots, and trimmed the lead all the way down to 6 points.

I appreciated that the team didn't give up and continued to play hard to the end. It gives me a lot of hope for the future. I look forward to seeing what Coach Waugh can do with a roster that isn't completely depleted.

Regarding the turnovers -- it seems that some of them are just careless decisions (especially by Moss), but most of them I'm sure are the result of fatigue -- too many players logging too many minutes. This won't be fixed this year, so I'm not really focusing on that anymore.

What's interesting is that the poor season doesn't seem to be having a negative impact on attendance. At least not yet. A lot of long faces in the crowd after the game -- the home crowd has had to suffer a lot of losses this year.

Finally, GO X! :logo:
