Jay Bilas puts the A-10 in the Purgatory of college basketball. Does not get the benefit of the doubt of the football conferences, and does not get the underdog status of mid-majors.

There is no doubt this yr the A10 is as good as most conferences. 11-14 teams in top 100. An A10 title this yr will mean alot more for Xavier and look better come selection Sunday!

I think it's fair to put the A10 somewhere in the middle right now.

If u look at teams ranked, yes. We will be lucky to get 2 teams in top 25.

How is this news...the A10 has always been right in the middle.

Let's stop kidding ourselves...we have 2-3 programs that could compete consistently in Big Six conferences.

My reply to Bilas would be.....it took you this long to figure this out?

Of course it did, because Jay Bilas is a moron. Morons are slower than the general population.

The A10 is right there with the West Coast, MVC, CUSA, and Mountain West. It's not a bad place to be.

It's better than being in the Pac12.

So the new descriptor is "power conference"? Good lord, just give it up already trying to define things for everybody you stupid MF's. I guess the crap ass PAC 12 qualifies as a "power conference"? Powerful at what? Shitting itself???

I still don't know why ESPN et al feels so compelled to find the appropriate label for everything, especially since their labels are very non-specific. The Pac Twelve is labeled a major conference, yet it is so weak this year that Gonzaga, Saint Mary's, UNLV, San Diego State, and New Mexico would all win it, even though they don't play in major conferences. Hell, Weber State and Nevada might be good enough to contend for first. Seriously. It's that weak.

jay Bilas has some absurd opinions but they are always thought out. And while I don't have insider, I agree with what I have read that the A-10 is somewhere between the Power Conferences and the Mid Majors. Much like the MVC, the A-10 has played the RPI game this year with brilliant perfection with 11-14 in the top 100.

I read him to include the A10 with the power categories, for purposes of evaluating otherwise dangerous non-power conference teams:

"Among teams not residing in power conferences or the Atlantic 10, here are the prime suspects to be lethal in March (and perhaps April):"

I agree with you on one, maybe two of these.
