Bonnies look to have the W locked up.

Kinda shitty. UD was without two of their starters to injury. I'm not a UD fan, but I would take no excitement in that loss.

I guess they did look more tired in the endgame. La Salle could wear them down with their guards if Johnson isn't able to play Saturday.

Really just one starter, have to take Benson out of the equation, but Chris Johnson is such a key player. UD had 8 scholarship players dressed and it took Nicholson's best game of the year to beat them. Not many teams will win dressing 8 players and missing a senior All-League caliber player, this UD team simply isn't good enough to do it. They were dog tired with 8 minutes left, only a series of good two man offense from Dillard and Kavanaugh kept them within two at the under 4 timeout.

Beat LaSalle on Saturday and UD will still be in a great spot, 3-1 in A10 play with wins over SLU and Temple. I don't think they'll win more than 10 league games, but 10-6 may be good enough to sneak in the dance with their SOS and handful of good wins. Who knows.

Yeah no surprise UD lost that game. If UD would've won you might as well give A10 COY to Archie right now. NC. St. where Archie will most likely end up sometime just got schooled by Brian Gregory.

I think the A10 gets at least 4 teams. The conference still has 5 ooc games, and they matter.

La Salle and UMass had weak out OOC SOS, but they have good records. If they can crash into the top 4-5 of the conference they could get an at-large. The La Salle game is huge for UD.

I'll be VERY happy if we beat Temple on the road as ud did!

I take excitement in EVERY UD loss. Trust me, they didn't care that we had half our team suspended during our slide.

FT differential --SBU took 28; UD had 10; obviously UD had no answer for Nickolson and Schmidty knows how to feed his best weapon. But if XU or anyone else goes to Olean and sees that foul difference, all blame laid on the refs.

If a depleted team could hang in for most of the game against the Bonnies, I wouldn't be ready just yet to be chalking up losses for the Flyers. You people are seriously mistaken if you expect teams like La Salle to just shoot their way to a win in their place.

Only Buffalo could pull that off!

Ehhh, but those suspensions were from our own doing, not something outside a player's control, like injuries. I think it could easily be argued that UD's situation is a tad more sympathetic.

But whatever. I'm not going to break my back arguing for UD.

Don't stoop to their level.

UD fans are always going to find twisted pleasure in their perception of our demise. When we aren't stumbling on the floor, they're going to revisit the same tired/pathetic/cliched 'when-all-else-fails' accusation they've been making for years: Xavier has no class.

Can someone please remind Dayton fans that accusations aren't facts. Fact are indisputable. Accusations, however, cannot be proven or disproven and are thus quite disputable. A final score is a fact. Claiming an entire fanbase has 'no class' is an accusation. While they're at it, they might as well claim that everyone who lives in Australia drinks Fosters, throws boomerangs and has a pet kangaroo.

Rooting for other people to fail is what happens when you've abandoned hope of living up to your own expectations. Xavier wins on the floor while Dayton circle jerks to the thought of Xavier losing. This is why Xavier will always be better than Dayton.

I agree it is a different situation. But, if we win the A10 by one game over Dayton, I'm sure you won't be in a rush to name them co-champs because they were shorthanded when they dropped this game to the Bonnies. :D

Of course they wouldn't have room for the banner anyway, being that they have all of those years of preseason honors hanging from the rafters.

If Xavier is 39-0 and national champs, I'll still root for Dayton to fail. Except when I'm taking Tardy Turtle's money due to Dayton's success.

I hate you.

And also Dayton.

Chris Johnson is such a key player.

Yes, Dayton games are much different when he's not going 6 points on 2-7 from behind the arc.

Not really a good excuse, see X last yr. Archie should have run 'em more in the pre-season. Didn't seem to be problem for Nicholoson.

What would have been really funny would be for Archie Miller to take a page from his brother's playbook and rip his players a new one on the postgame radio show for falling apart and getting tired late in the game. Granted, it would be rather undeserved, but at least he would be sending a message just how much a) he were to believe in his team and b) he expects of said team.

It's looking like they won't have Johnson available for the La Salle game, but they will have a week to rest and prepare for the Flagship when The Show makes its annual trip to Dayton on the 21st.

It's strange that I never hear the Temple Owl team or fans whining that the refs took the game away from them or that they would have won had Scootie Randall not been hurt (for the entire season!!!).

Over at the A-10 board, a chorus of UD fans routinely cry about the refs determining the game after losses and moan if they have a player out for a game or two due to sickness, injury, or having been kidnapped.

Yes, this is the UD way. It's very amusing

Watched the game...Bonnies got a TON of free throws in the last 2 minutes...the disparity of 28-10 was not as bad as it looks...refs let Both sides ply all night long...was a really good game...especially since my beloved Bonnies won...hahaha...God, I HTE Dayton and their whiny fans
