Mizzou played K-State today (and got trounced), however, days before the game K-State fans had publicly listed Mizzou guard Michael Dixon's phone number online. He decided to respond by listing on twitter all of the phone numbers of the people that were calling him. This all turned ugly when the most fanatic of the Mizzou students (known at the Antlers) went to town on these poor souls by finding out the names and addresses of the people behind the phone numbers (seriously why do people put their phone numbers on facebook and have a public profile). From the article below:

"Since that tweet went viral, MU fans — including the Antlers — have been calling the KSU fans non stop, ordering pizzas on their behalf, signing them up for gay porn magazines, and anything else imaginable one can do by phone."

While there is something to be said about be the bigger person and just ignoring all of this, do you think Michael Dixon's actions were fair or foul?

I personally think that turn around should be fair play. If you call someone to harass them by phone, you shouldn't be surprised when you are given the same treatment.

While I found it funny, a player on scholarship does represent the university (like it or not) and needs to take the high road. Therefore, not a good idea on Dixon's part.

How's that any different than having your number listed (along with your address) in the phone book?

COMPLETELY fair. He didn't do anything to harrass those people. All he did was list the numbers of those who were harrassing him. It was everyone else that decided to have at it, not him.

If you are going to use your phone to mess with people, get one of those anonymous phones.

By the way, I simply can't spell anonymous. I have to use the spell check every time, and I use the word a lot. The wiring in my brain simply can't remember that sequence. Let's take a look at that:

Anonymous

and

Anonymously

Those letters really look to me like they shouldn't function well, like they are not real. I think it is some sort of liberal French socialist plot to destroy language, even though the etymology of the word comes from Greek and Latin and not French. Maybe those dudes are the problem. I don't even like the word etymology, and I have to spell check that too. French, Greek and Roman bastards.

And look at the subversive groups that are Anonymous. One is simply named Anonymous, and they are simply hell bent on destroying all the power structures here on earth. Another is Alcoholics Anonymous, and they are trying to take away your alcohol. Though I can't blame the French for that, God bless them.

I blame liberals. I usually type something like anonomys, which doesn't look like anonymous at all, and the spell check gives me "astronomy" and I am screwed and have to do the google. I have done this a hundred times. You would think I would remember how to spell the word by now.

I like being anonymous though, and I wouldn't say the same things that I say if people could look me up. Now I am not calling your phone and harrassing you, and if I did it would be your right to expose me as a prick. That player shouldn't be bound to keep peoples secrets when they discriminate against him on this basis with malice.

I think the world being anonymous when they want to be is a good thing. I have a love and hate relationship with Wikileaks, but I want to err on the side of Wikileaks. If they publish information that gets informants trying to rid themseves of tyrants they are obviously wrong, and they were wrong in that instance, but in general I support the cause.

Like everything else it has pros and cons and +/-. No easy middle ground.

There, I just hijacked this thread with idiocy! I say those people deserve those gay porn magazines.

I once had a bet with Benwar where he shaved his head and then I called up all these Rogaine and hair replacements places and had stuff sent to his house. He probably still have videos of how to enhance his hair growth. That was a huge win at the time and I enjoyed it. I remember him calling me up bitching. I own Benwar, and if he was a man he would still admit it to this day.

So I forgot, the subject is about who, me? Great.

Fair, that's hilarious as well. He didn't do anything as said before, the Mizzou fans went to town though.

Fair, especially after I read the article and saw how much they really harassed him. My general life policy is to be polite until someone is an asshole...then you can be an asshole right back, because they friggin deserve it.

I think its despicable that some "fan" decided it was ok to list Dixon's number. There are two many things that are being called acceptable as part of cheering for your school, which are far over the line.

Between the guys on LSU's TigerDroppings board, the guys from the Texas ShaggyBevo board (who made headlines last week going to the Penn State bowl dressed as Pedobear) and now apparently the guys from The Antlers... These "chatroom legends" have really stepped up their mission of chaos. They've essentially become the intersection of sports and 4chan.

Signing those guys up for gay porn magazines is hilarious

Fair; and the whole incident I find quite comical.

Change the names, replace Dixon with Mark Lyons and K St with Dayton; I find it hard to believe most on this site wouldn't be calling the Dayton numbers.
