And forgive me Bally, but I want to make sure I top the voting. In the Knobbers column the other day he said this about the most horrible thing ever to happen in the history of life:
I was glad to hear no criminal charges were filed in the Cincinnati-Xavier fight. I'm also glad that nobody is talking about ending or even suspending the series. And even though the penalties were too light, I do think Yancy Gates's contrition was genuine. It will take a long time for him to recover, but his emotional news conference was a good first step.
First of all I'm relieved he is glad that no criminal charges were filed and that Yancy is good at crying. Now the Knobber can focus his real outrage at St. Joseph's.
However earlier he wrote this:
A good player knows how to play well when he's not playing well. Understand? Kevin Pangos does. Gonzaga's 6-1 freshman guard had his worst shooting game of the season against Arizona (1 for 9 from the floor, 0 for 5 from three), but he still found a way to contribute eight assists (to one turnover) and three rebounds. That's how you get Capone.
So what the hell is upset about with the suspensions? Surely it's not the use of gangster, because the Knobber is perfectly capable of making a gangster analogy. Maybe it's justified since The Knobber doesn't call Pangos Capone.
Please vote accordingly.
Again, sorry Bally.

1) Bill Packer
2) Lance McAlister
3) Len Elmore
4) Dickie V
5) Digger Phelps
Honorable mention: Dan Dakich. Len Elmore also rubs me the wrong way. It's as if he thinks everything he says is so brilliant. He's more like Mr. Obvious.

BTW Dakich is a big XU fan, speaks very highly of them on his radio show. He actually defended Tu & Lyons during the Butler telecast. It was the play by play guy who dissed Tu & Lyons.

After what Seth Davis just said about us during halftime our the UK UL game, I'm not sure how this guy is not on top of everyone's list.
His resolution for the Musketeers was, get back to your rhythm...(dramatic pause) peacefully.
He seriously said he hopes we play peacefully.
I cannot stand that guy.

Yeah, I saw that also. I just don't get how X is taking the larger brunt of the brawl. ESPN had a montage of 2011 sound clips...of course they put the "gangsters" and "zip em up" comments from Tu in there. Good Grief.

As soon as he announced that segment I knew he was going to take a shot at X. Knobber. I now move up Seth Davis in my rankings, tied in first with Doug Gotleib.

Still don't understand why he is employed. Has nothing of any value to say, is basically a felon, and seems like a generally distasteful and unpleasant person.

I am eager to see what ESPNs reaction to the return of Nancy Gates will be.
You know, the guy who actually threw the punch that resulted in someone getting hurt.

I don't think anybody else even got a scratch from the brawl. Gates has gotten a free pass because UC has become irrelevant. The brawl attention is what Cronin has craved because it let the world know that UC still played basketball. Nobody gives a damn about them any longer because the program was all about Huggins..
