It's going to take a solid 40 minutes to beat UC - even the best Xavier teams struggled in this rivalry.

Ladies needed this one badly and came back to win.

Xavier outrebounded UC 39-24 in this one; Xavier was also 21-24 behind the line. That's a lot better than what they typically shot from the line last season.

X only had 12 turnovers in this one; TOs have been a big problem all year long.

uc's lady coach was on channel 5 yesterday being interviewed in the studio. She referred to the X-UC game as a big "interstate rivalry", like this was Ohio U and Miami or something. Someone in Clifton might want to inform her she coaches only 3.5 miles from her rival. Glad we won!

Great weekend! Loved Amy's intensity and how it transferred to the ladies. Mossy got a roll. I saw lots of talent - some off the bench. They've played some tough competition and that will help down the road. Huge upside!

Pachko is really starting to come around. I love the way Gray lends her experience as a team leader, love to see her get the ball in the hoop a little more.
And the way Holmes has played all season has been a real delight, she's got the ability to hit the jumper, and slash to the basket, Reminds me of the way Dee Dee and April Phillips played, just awesome!

I know the women have been having a rough season thus far. (At least when they lose, they are losing to real teams, and not teams off the pastry cart) But, I am happy that they DID get the win against UC.

Moss was doing her best Holloway impersonation yesterday. She put the team on her back down the stretch. It wasn't as dramatic, but it was equally effective. Good win. It's been tough sledding for the ladies so far, but it is definitely priming them for conference time.
