When I checked in, Vandy was up by 10. Now they're going to overtime. They're not a team of closers. Ouch.

No one wants to take the big shot. They missing a player with Tu-like balls of steel

If Jeff Taylor would not have been in the game Vandy would have won by 15. He single handily kept Louisville in the game.

They had the ball, tied with 39 secs and tunred it over 9 secs in. Louisville missed a close one at the end of regulation. Hoping they pull it out.

If Vandy had anyone other than Tinsley playing PG, they'd be a much better team in my opinion, especially with Ezeli coming back into the mix. Tinsley can't seem to keep up with his own teams athleticism, let alone the opponents he guards.

Vandy lacks guts. They are soft.

What a terrible loss by Vandy. They are absolutely horribly coached imo, how about a press break Stallings? Could not be more unimpressed with both teams tonight. No way in hell Louisville is the 6th best team in the country

I think Louisville had some injuries...but I have no idea who is injuried and how important/good he (they?) is to the team.

This has been Vandy for the 6 years I've been here...

Actually they had one guy who was here when Shan Foster was here, I forget his name though. The year they lost to Georgetown on the Jeff Green "travel"

First they can't close out at home against us, then on the road they piss down their legs. WTF, Vandy? Help out our RPI please and thank you!

That Goldbourne (sp?) kid is single handedly the stupidest player on the planet.

One of their back up bigs is out, but i forget how long. Their most hyped freshman was lost for the year before the season with a torn labrum i think and another player who is a 3/4 type who is also real good should be back soon. Injuries have been a huge problem for Louisville for years now. It's beyond bad luck at this point.

And yes, Vandy has no point guard. John Jenkins should just take all of their shots as well.

I will say this for Louisville: they play rough and tumble defense. Helmets might be required when they play UC.

To be fair to Vandy, they lost two overtime games to highly ranked teams WITHOUT Festus Ezeli, who is their best post player. I wouldn't call them soft with him in the lineup.

I'm not saying Vandy didn't piss away the game last night. In fact, Louisville has been hit with injuries as well. However, to take two ranked teams to overtime without a key component is an indicator that they will be good once they're back at full strength.

I think it comes down to point guard play and coaching more than anything for Vandy. Tinsley isn't very good and doesn't have the killer instinct you need at that position. He can break under pressure. Stallings confuses me with some of his substitutions among other things. Vandy is a good team, and will be better with Ezeli back, but they still don't strike me as a team built for a real tournament run even though they've got some really good players.

This just in, Vandy apparently had some Bus lag prior to the game.

No Bobbie, they were warming up for the Louisville game with Dayton's opening video.

Sadly I cannot get that shit out of my head right now.

Plus, for most of the season they'll be playing shitty SEC teams (and Kentucky a couple times).

Sure, but they were in control of both games. That's why people are calling them soft.

I understand that, and they did give up control. It's just that to get the whole picture of what kind of team they are, I think you need to look at the whole story. They are without a post player who is likely a pro prospect. With him, they're better. It also takes pressure off the guards because defenses would have to adjust to and focus on Ezeli.

In the short run, they lost two games that they could have won and were even in control of. In the long run, I think they're okay. They'll be much better once they're back at full strength in January. If nothing else, if you look at a team that lost two games in overtime in highly ranked teams, and criticize them for not playing as well as they could have, it's a testament to how good that team can be when they are on their game.
