They are killing the league at 0-5.
Are they there simply for football?

Moving thread.
Honestly, what does Utah or the Pac12 have to do with Xavier Men's Basketball?

Utah's problem in both football and basketball is that all their good players left or exhausted eligibility, and were replaced by players that aren't nearly as good.

Johnny Wolf's cousin's ex-girlfriend's sixth grade social studies teacher is a die-hard Utes fan. Duh.

How is that not common knowledge?

Utah is awful, just awful. Talk about your RPI going down when you win. Just ugly. Like our conference needs any help looking poorly already.

They only lost to UMass by 14, which seems to be their best game to this point. And they really ran out of time more than the lost. Anyway, those Ute - Sun Devil games will be about as exciting as the Illinois v. UCLA bowl game.

Utah returned a total of 28 points per game from last season. They have eleven new players.
They've been good before and will be good again. They're just not very good right now. In 2009 they finished in the top 25.

And abruptly got destroyed by Arizona in the first round of that tournament. We killed that team and we were only a decent team. I do agree with what you are saying, they did the right thing by moving into our conference. They need to get the right coach in there to get their recruiting headed in the right direction. Our conference will be better going forward, but it is embarassing right now.

ASU lost to us by 17 and we started just running out the clock with about 7 mins left up 24, because the game wasn't even competitive. Utah lost to Colorado (another bottom team in the Pac 12) by 40 points and only scored 33 total points in the game. 73-33 to Colorado? Pathetic. Our conference is just awful.

I've got to think the end is near for Sendek at ASU. He'd be a nice assistant coach for some team though.

Chances are Sendek may go back down a rung but still wind up being a head coach if he doesn't survive at ASU. He recruited quite a bit of players on Miami's last Sweet 16 team back in 1999; I wonder if he goes back to the MAC or perhaps the Missouri Valley for one more shot at the NCAA Tournament.
I've gotta think that the Pac-12 will eventually cycle back upwards similar to how the SEC has done in recent years.
