Women lose to South Carolina

Positives:

Shatyra Hawkes had 18 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. Excellent all-around game for her.

Liz Stratman had a career high 8 points. She also had 4 rebounds.

43% shooting against one of the nation's best defenses.

Negatives:

15 turnovers in the 1st 15 minutes of play. 23 total for the game.

Far too many fouls -- both Gray and Pachko fouled out.


Right now the team just isn't very good, but there are positive signs out there, so hopefully the team can turn it around soon.

It does appear that steps are being made, but getting the frontcourt to have their game, at the same point that they backcourt plays at their peak has yet to happen.
The good thing is that this team is making these steps of progress against a very very tough slate of teams. I'm fully in favor of this type of schedule, even if it means getting beat down, it truly is the only way they will continue to improve. This team should be very very prepared for the A-10

I'm finding it really hard to judge this team because the schedule has just been sooooo brutal. Mississippi State is really not predicted to be very good this year but with a young team this was our first road game. Hopefully, we can pull off a few wins in a row now before we head off to Las Vegas.

Really impressed by the play of Hawkes the last couple of games. Such improvement from last year.
