at home

to Buffalo (the college not the NFL team).

In fairness to UD, Buffalo (the college not the NFL team) was picked to finish 5th in the MAC East. So they must be good.

And the announcer said UD was tired from their game on ...... Sunday.

I am looking forward to the UD fans rationalizing this loss. Something to the extent of "we played four games in seven days, the team was exhausted." First of all, that's your fault for making the schedule. Secondly, you lost to BUFFALO at HOME. I have heard the Bulls are sneaky good this year but honestly, come on UD. Yes, you won the Old Spice tourney. You played two declining basketball teams in Minnesota and Wake while beating F airfield. Congratulations UD, your consistent mediocrity provides me endless entertainment.

Buffalo (The college not the NFL team) played zone in the first half and you will never believe this but Dayton was just standing five feet outside the three point line launching dumb shot after dumb shot.

Next to their numerous Preseason A10 Championship banners.

HAHAHAHA. Thank you, that was awesome.

The full bit of jet lag joy from AvidFlyer:

"I think you can get jetlag just from all the rigors of travel, packing, standing in line for security checks, waiting for baggage on arrival etc. Travel can take a lot out of you then there is the descending from the clouds back to reality after a big win.

Quite frankly I think the flyers spent a lot of energy in the Minneapolis game.

I agree, Sunday could be another story. Hope they regroup and get it together.

Good news is which team will Murray State prepare for."

I...........don't even know..........I just.............

Jet lag doesn't happen like that, first off. That's a piss poor excuse.

Second, all the other "rigors" of travel? What with that heavy ass Old Spice Classic banner in your luggage? Watch out, we have some badass travelers on board.

The line in bold is my favorite, really. Their collective heads have been in the clouds for forever and a day, and yet they think that's why they lost today? pft.

To be fair, it is possible that their flight from Orlando was rerouted to say, Tokyo, and then flew back to Dayton. I mean, we are all aware of the continuing bad luck poor UD is always faced with. Who can forget the raging (what was it again?) food poisoning/flu/pneumonia epidemic that practically wiped out the team a few years ago? And, let's not down play how every referee in the NCAA is out to destroy sweet little UD. It's just so hard for them. And now, they have a coach to carry on the great mantel brought forth to UD by one Brian Gregory. Way to move forward and leave those ugly non-conference records behind you, UD! Bwahahahahahaha.

It just makes me so happy to not just watch UD lose, but to lose in such a spectacular fashion. The look on Archie Miller's face was priceless. What a great season it has been thus far! We keep beating real opponents and our non-conference and conference foes keep losing to colleges most people didn't know existed. Beautiful, beautiful season!

LadyMuskie
12-01-2011, 01:42 AM
I just read the Dayton Daily News article. Well, I started it. I got to the second paragraph where Archie Miller was going on and on about being "scared to death" on the flight home from Orlando about the Buffalo game and had to stop.

What is with these coaches? First, Cronin is all "paranoid" about playing Presbyterian and now Miller is "scared to death" to play a team that most people will incorrectly associate with Marv Levy and an entirely different sport. What kind of confidence is that from a coach? No wonder UC and UD can't beat these teams. Their coaches are practically in the fetal position under the bench sucking their thumbs over having to play Presbyterian and Buffalo. For (supposedly) grown men, these two seem to whine a lot about being terrified about having to do their jobs.

Losers!

It's sad b/c we need Dayton to win some games to help the conference RPI and boost the league up a little.

As much as I despise them and their fans, every loss like this hurts our leagues credibility.

So indirectly, UD is at it again.

Losing is one thing.

But losing by 30 AT HOME to Buffalo ? What ?

WOW is all I can say.

Archie Miller looked like death on the bench. He literally looked like he was going to vomit all over himself.

I believe Dayton charters their own planes, and they never left the timezone. What is it, three hours at most from Dayton to Orlando?? Same timezone, and they think they're jetlagged. Three days later. I didn't know waiting in line and checking your luggage (on a chartered flight, mind you) could result in jetlag.

The game was pathetic. That analysis as to why they played so poorly was infinitely more pathetic.

For a team with the nickname of "Flyers", they obviously don't do it very well.

Maybe the udump plane landed in Indianapolis and they had to take a bus over, since the mud airstrip that is in the middle of a cornfield north of Huber Heights couldn't accomodate the 4 propeller Constellation that's held together with chicken wire, duct tape and spit. After all, the dump did get it from Air France- the masters at surrender.

Honestly, Having Kavanaugh, Benson and Luke Fabreeze playing meaningful minutes would infuriate SWAC team fan basses. However, we are forced to play these jokers twice a year.

And to answer your question, pal: why am I here? I came here because Mitch and Murray asked me to, they asked me for a favor. I said, the real favor, follow my advice and fire your f'in ass because a loser is a loser.

When Presby beat UC, it was their fourth game in seven days, and fifth game in eight days. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they were traveling by bus throughout that entire stint, which is much crappier than flying.

I really don't know what any of that means. I just found it really funny that some of the UD fans actually think the loss was due to having played four games in seven days and being jetlagged after a two hour charted flight three days before.

I guess Presby wasn't jetlagged. After all, they took the bus.

Isn't the flight to UMass almost as long as a flight to Orlando? I don't know why they're even trying to rationalize such an excuse.
