SLU -18.5

SLU down early, and they don't look right now like they have any shot of coming close to covering that spread.

Not so fast Wags - they did struggle and miss a few bunnies early in this one.

Now they're on a 9-0 run and have opened up a 42-28 lead.

Nice to see conference teams getting W's. Saint Louis is one of X's most important opponents since we play them twice in conference.

UMass will be tipping off in about 20 minutes against Florida State on Versus - this could be a real big day for the A-10 if they can find a way to win this one.

UMASS well looks like UMASS under Kellogg. Down 13 and FSU doesn't look that great either.

Good win for Dayton, winning a close one over Wake. Wake obviously isn't very good, but it stinks to be in the losers' bracket of these tournaments from the first round, so that was an important win. They likely get Arizona State and Archie's old coach Sendek tomorrow night.

So the A-10 goes 2-1 but 0-3 ATS. Good enough for me!

Wake is world's better than they were last year. They got rid of some of the cancers in that locker room. Good win for Dayton and Archie looks like he is the real deal.

UMass isn't great (by a long shot) but FSU isn't too bad. One of the people doing the game picked them for secondplace in the ACC ahead of Duke. I don't think I would go that far, but I don't think the Seminoles are chopped liver either!

I like Fairfield against AZ State.

I would have to think Fairfield would be Dayton's next opponent. ASU is atrocious. Fairfield actually has some players, and should have made the Dance last year.

Also, FSU always plays GREAT D. UMASS is better this year, but still didn't have a chance because of FSU's D and there superior strength.

UMass did try to press Florida State in their game, but it's awfully hard to get any consistency when your shooting percentages are in the 20s and 30s. Florida State is coming off of a Sweet 16 season last year that just ran into the VCU buzzsaw.

Looking ahead - the interesting matchup tomorrow will be Saint Louis and Villanova. Both teams looked bored early on in their games before they shook off the rust and won fairly easily.

Right now Dayton looks like they'll be playing Fairfield in the semis, but who knows how Arizona State will play in the 2nd half? I'm starting to wonder if the window is closing for Herb Sendek and ASU.

Fun fact - Fairfield is the defending MAAC regular season champ with quite a bit of their cast from last season back this year; I wouldn't be surprised if they won tonight AND tomorrow night.

ASU was just terrible last night but Fairfield played some good zone which may trouble the Flyers. Williams will be the key again.

WTF is up with Kavanaugh? The guy looked like the second coming of....er...Sean Finn?

He was actually somewhat effective, that is until he tried to make any type of drop step or spin move. He was marginally better than the usual dump white stiff scarecrow. That's saying' something.

I think he has moved on from the scarecrow days.
