OK, obviously bored on the lunch hour. If this somewhat plausible series of results happens from the games listed below, the Big East football conference would end up with a six way tie for first at 4-3 (which would be pretty appropriate this year):

Louisville over UConn
Rutgers over UC
USF over Louisville
Pitt over WV
UConn over Rutgers
UC over Syracuse
WV over USF
Syracuse over Pitt
UConn over Cincinnati

(if WV beats Pitt, then USF would need to beat WV and Pitt would need to beat the Cuse)

From this point on, I am cheering for this ridiculous result.

So much mediocrity in this thread my head's going to explode.

The tie-breaker champ opens +3.5 vs. Clempson in the who cares bowl in Miami. (Unless the tiebreak winner is Louisville, because then I would care)

Thankfully there aren't any major video game releases this week that will distract my Cards from winning.

Someone with even more free time on their hands took it a step further on the Louisville board. Bad news is that Louisville can't win a tiebreaker. Good news is there are 6 ways we could end up at a 6 way tie (and not the 2 I came up with):

"Of the 512 combinations of ways the final 9 Big East games can play out, only 6 of them result in a 6-way tie at 4-3:

1) RUT over CIN, CON over CIN, CIN over SYR, PIT over WVU, WVU over USF, SYR over PIT, LOU over CON, USF over LOU, CON over RUT
2) RUT over CIN, CON over CIN, CIN over SYR, WVU over PIT, USF over WVU, PIT over SYR, LOU over CON, USF over LOU, CON over RUT
3) RUT over CIN, CIN over CON, SYR over CIN, PIT over WVU, WVU over USF, SYR over PIT, CON over LOU, LOU over USF, CON over RUT
4) RUT over CIN, CIN over CON, SYR over CIN, WVU over PIT, USF over WVU, PIT over SYR, CON over LOU, LOU over USF, CON over RUT
5) CIN over RUT, CON over CIN, SYR over CIN, PIT over WVU, WVU over USF, SYR over PIT, CON over LOU, LOU over USF, RUT over CON
6) CIN over RUT, CON over CIN, SYR over CIN, WVU over PIT, USF over WVU, PIT over SYR, CON over LOU, LOU over USF, RUT over CON

The Big East website only describes how to break 2-, 3-, and 4-way ties, but applying their logic for a 4-way tie, this is how I think they would break a 6-way tie:

The six tied teams form a mini-conference.

Scenario 1: PIT, WVU, LOU win first round of tiebreaker by being 3-2 in the mini-conference while RUT, CIN, CON are 2-3. The highest ranked team among PIT, WVU, and LOU (in the BCS rankings) would go.

Scenario 2: WVU would win the tiebreaker by being 4-1 in the mini-conference while LOU would be 3-2 and PIT, RUT, CIN, and CON would be 2-3.

Scenario 3 or 5: WVU, CIN, PIT win first round of tiebreaker by being 3-2 in the mini-conference while LOU, RUT, and CON are 2-3. The highest ranked team among WVU, CIN, and PIT (in the BCS rankings) would go.

Scenario 4 or 6: WVU would win the tiebreaker by being 4-1 in the mini-conference while CIN would be 3-2 and PIT, RUT, LOU, and CON would be 2-3."

Most of us would call this a "Cluster F*ck".

Which is the current definition of Big East Football.

Scenarios 1 and 2 are still alive for the 4 way tie.
