Xavier plays at Mississippi State tonight at 8pm. I don't know too much about them. Here is their starting five according to the game notes:
3 G Diamber Johnson Sr. 5-7 30.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 31.0
4 G Porsha Porter Sr. 5-6 10.0 3.0 5.0 7.0 0.0 19.0
10 F Martha Alwal Fr. 6-4 4.0 11.0 1.0 1.0 10.0 28.0
14 G Kendra Grant Fr. 5-11 8.0 7.0 0.0 2.0 0.0 23.0
34 C Catina Bett Jr. 6-5 8.0 4.0 0.0 1.0 2.0 19.0
It looks like they will have a height advantage against us, but they also seem fairly young. Please share any thoughts you have here. I'm at work so frequent updates would be appreciated. :-)

Very good game and effort by the ladies. This team is going to keep improving they work extremely hard. Less turnovers and a few more free throws and we would have had this one.

Tough loss, but shows this group has some some fight and is headed in the right direction. Easy to see the problem when you look at the stats, must take better care of the ball, and need to exert more defensive pressure. Too many turnovers, and not enough steals, channeling Waughs defensive effort will get them there. to give up 19 and only force 1,,,,,,
VERY impressed with Holmes on the offensive side, Hawkes also especially her effort on the boards. Mossy and Pachko , same deal stellar work on the O side.
4 of the five starters have impressive stats, when Amber gets her scoring touch going this team will take off on the offensive side.

Despite the TO differential, Xavier did shoot halfway decent behind the 3-pt arc (7-22) and from the FT line (14-20) to at least give themselves a shot at the end of the game. That's all you can ask of a new team at this point.
Louisville will be a stiffer test come Sunday.

Quite disappointing that they couldn't pull this game out only because of the tough matchup's still to come. I thought this was one that they would maybe be able to win. I'm hoping they can pull off an upset now that they let this game get away. Turnovers were clearly the difference. With such a young team that is somewhat expected. After seeing them struggle a little bit against EKU I was concerned but it made me feel much better that they competed so well against Miss St. If it means anything, Louisville was down at halftime to EKU tonight. They ended up pulling away but it makes me feel better about the game this Sunday.
On a side note Dayton has already lost two games. They lost @Toledo and @Cincinnati. Pretty surprising considering they have mostly upperclassmen and were expecting much bigger things this year. I'm curious to see if they can turn things around.
St. Bonaventure is 2-0 including a win over a top 25 team. It's always good to see A-10 teams doing well!

Lousiville pressured EKU into 23 turnovers. X needs to reduce TOs to stay in the game Sunday.

Losing at Toledo was one thing for them - UT was coming off the WNIT championship last year.
Losing at UC is unacceptable for a preseason A-10 champion.
