I think Vandy will be way more amped up for Kentucky than for us.

Yeah, we're definitely not everyone's Super Bowl, but that does hurt our future SoS.

I meant non-conference superbowl. Sorry about that.

I was looking for that game to be more competitive. I think we need to look to other conferences than the SEC. They just don't seem to be up to snuff. Maybe in a few years the SEC could mature enough to give us a decent opponent, but right now I think they should be a buy game at best.

I fault Bobinski. Michael has his flaws.

Mississippi State, who was picked 5th in the league, got poleaxed by Akron and Brian Walsh at home.

Hmmmmm. UK and NO one else?

Brian Walsh is a man's man, and Mississippi State is of no consequence to him. God Speed to Brian Walsh.

Vandy is still a good team. Cleveland State is also pretty decent. When Vandy gets Ezeli back they are going to be dvery angerous. I fully expect Vandy to rebound from this loss and refocus. I didn't get to see the game but from what I heard they were out hustled by Cleveland State. That is something that can be corrected and coached.

I actually think Florida is a pretty good team, too. I could see them in the elite 8 this year.

Looks like NE Ohio 2 SEC 0.

anybody know the record for Ohio teams making the tourney?

I can see 5 this year.

O$U
sUCks
CSU by winning the Horizon
Kent or Akron by winning the MAC

I want to say the record is 6...maybe UD can sneak up and...oh nevermind.

If Vandy is still ranked when we play them and assuming we'll win ...

I believe it will be our first ever (history of the program) win over a then ranked power conference in a true away game. In fact it would be our 2nd ever win over a then ranked power conference team (since the 1961-62 if Villanova and Providence were in a power conference back then) in a home or away game (Cincy was ranked 19th in 2009 when we beat them at home).

Wins over Cincy at Cincy when last ranked were before they joined the Big East. Win over Indiana in Chicago was a neutral game. A graphic on the Digger/Jay Williams/etc round table show said it was our 2000 win over Cincy but again that was before the Big East. Of course, we've had both in season and post season tourney wins.

Cleveland State is hardly chopped liver. They gave Butler all it could handle last year in the Horizon. I would have preferred Vandy undefeated at home when we got there, but it is what it is, a very tough road game.
