Evansville isn't in the Horizon....but yes, I'm glad they beat Butler.

Chances are Butler will enter February with around a .500 record. They win seven of their next ten and win some sort of tiebreaker that allows them to play at home in the conference tournament. They'll then win the conference tournament, get to the NCAA Tournament, and advance to the championship game after a couple of close wins and upsets that cause their portion of the bracket to collapse.
On a serious note, Butler will have their hands full with Detroit this year. I wouldn't be surprised to see Detroit give Notre Dame a big scare on Monday.

That's 2 years in a row that Evansville knocked off Butler.

I expect nothing less from a fellow Batesville High School graduate. For a small school Batesville puts out some ballers.

I enjoy a Butler loss.
Butler got hosed by the officials and the clock @ their game at Evansville yesterday. Game was tied with .9 sec on clock. floor length pass,,BU gets ball and scores, but wait, ref says he was fouled before the shot, how that happens at .9 secs. is beyond me. Anyway shooter misses both freethrows, and Evansville cruises in OT. Butler bitching because of large free throw differential. That's what happens when your professional flopper..Matt Howard..graduates.

I love it. It couldn't happen to a more appropriate program.

However, I didn't want them to lose that game. They will play us like it is the superbowl. We don't wanna lose to a team that lost to Evansville.

That team and program are full of rats, and I root for them to lose every game. It all started in Sean's last year when Rat Howard would storm into the lane after he missed a FT. Continue into the next year and the clock, and the hate elevated (the NC appearances were just topping on the hate cake).
The program under Stevens will never be good; he just will continue to recruit rats who won't get the program to an elite level. Both of their final 4 appearances were tidal waves of fortunate breaks:
Facing a 13 seed in Murray State in round 2, followed by Onuaku-less Cuse, followed by physically/emotionally tired KSU, followed by a Lucas-less MSU in '10.
Facing slow tempo teams in ODU, Pitt, Wisconsin, and FLA in '11. Match them up with an up-tempo team and they couldn't keep up.
Point of the story, I hope they lose every game this year - they won't but what a start!

No one makes the final 4 without a bit of luck, but also no one makes the final 4 without some serious talent.
To say that Butler hasn't been really good the past 2 years just sounds like sour grapes. Stevens has been great for the program and has brought them to an elite level. I am all for some serious Butler hate since they are turning into a great rivalry game but lets at least be realistic and give credit where credit is due.

I won't give a team credit if they go 13-5 in the Horizon League.

You can hate on Butler all you want but you can't disrespect what they have been able to do playing with limited resources in a true mid-major league. 99% of the teams in the country would've loved to have done what Butler did the last two years.

I agree wholeheartedly with this post. And that 99% would include the Xavier Musketeers!!!
