ESPN has him as a 4 star and a 93. #12 PG in the class. We go after a stud point guard in every class these days.

Point guards are a precious commodity. I think it is the most important position on any team, and it is difficult to win without a good one.

I really want this kid to be a Muskie. He is a high level scorer and can play multiple positions.

May be tough to convince him to come to X with PGs in the two classes ahead of him and a SG in the one ahead of him...

I don't want guys that are worried about that kind of stuff. I want players that want to be on a really good team and let their play decide how much run they get. Also good players like to player with other really good players. Kentucky is the prime example.

This kid seems to have all the tools. I also like the fact that he is 6'4". That is the size gaurds we need to be really competitive on a national level. He and Semaj Christon would make a nice back court.

“Right now I have four schools that lead heading into the summer,” E.C. Matthews told XOFan. “They are Iowa, Indiana, Iowa State, and Minnesota!”

Not gonna go into premium content, but take this report with a big grain of salt.

Not premium info, but twitter was all over this article and a couple of different recruiting guys said Matthews is not down to 4 schools and it was a misunderstanding by the author.
Tweet from one of his coaches:
Nate Schmidt @NSchmidtA2
EC Matthews 2013 G Romulus/The Family has not narrowed his list of schools...to clear up reports he does not have a top 4...
I would guess that if Matthews got a Xavier offer tomorrow he would have us right up there at or near the top of his list.

Thank you. I didn't want to take the time to dig up info, just knew that report wasn't true. Definitely a better presentation than my "trust me on this."

Matthews off the board to Rhode Island. I know UD had offered, not sure on X.
Just goes to show you that you can't trust all these "sources" and Final Five lists that come out.
