My guess is there will be plenty of tickets available on game day.

Last year SLU had a Groupon, so I got in for $10.
It is highly likely, there will be plenty of tickets this year.
Tuesday night in St. Louis at the end of February and no Blues game conflict.

I seriously doubt they are trying to keep our fans from going there. I think they are trying to get their fans to go to the games and who can blame them. If I couldn't sell out games I would include big games in my mini packs. I remember the day when our 6 packs had some decent games in them... you always want your big games sold out.

All of the ticket packs offered by X this year have at least one great game bundled in... as they are every year. The whole idea is to bundle the highly coveted games with lesser games to get the most tickets sold for those lesser games.

well yes, that's what I mean too... you would see Fordham always thrown in there because seriously, who wants to see them. However, in the last few years, since we have more and more great games, the six pack hasn't been as good as it was in the past.

I thought St. Louis had great FANS ?
Or maybe its just the winning teams that they support ?
They're no different than any other city.

St. Louis is not much of a college sports town.

I'm planning on making the drive from Lawrence to see the SLU game. Would suck to have to pay $99 for one game. I doubt it will come to that, though. I'm assuming StubHub will have plenty of tickets available for pretty cheap.

The concept of making people buy a mini pack to get certain marquee games.
Glass Houses? Stones?
I think we do that with our marquee games. I know before I had season tickets, I had to resort to a mini pack to get the crosstown game.
I recall Cronin griping about never setting foot in Millet Hall again since Miami bundled their UC game in a mini pack, even up to and including walk up sales for the game.
The reds do it to an extent - buy the Power Pack to get Opening day.

I dislike when we do it too. It suggests we don't fill the place otherwise.

Yet we had over 10k in the house for Bellarmine.
We fill the place just fine.

Without looking it up, I'm going to guestimate some figures. SLU probably is assured of getting 5-6k butts in seats each game, when a 9K seat building. That's somewhere around 3.5K empty seats per game, times 16 games, for somewhere around 56K available tickets.
Knowing Washington, Xavier and UD games will be their highest attended, it makes sense to package those games to also assure tickets sales for games that likely would see the lowest attendance.
Not a fan of forcing you to buy a package for certain games, but I see the logic. Revenue is the name of the game in college sports. Personally I like the way UD does it. They throw 2 for 1s for December games and an 8 game A10 home game package out for the Christmas shopping season. Usually the X game sells out of single game tickets right away, so the A10 package is the only way to get that game. Sneaky, without being forceful.

Probably not actually 'in the house' but I know what you mean.

Except for you and I......hahaha. We at least purchase the tickets. We just don't sit in the seats. So we did count in the 10,033 on Saturday.
That will not be the case Friday. See you then buddy.
