I'm sure there are D.C. related topics in the archives, but this one is a little more specific. I will be in town for 5 or 6 days for a conference to network and I'm crashing at my friend's place in Arlington. The problem is I booked a very early flight to save a hundred bucks and I will be in D.C. about 10 hours before I'll be able to get into his apartment.

So, I was just wondering if there are any kind of lockers or anything in town that I could put my crap in while I wandered around the city to do a little sightseeing. After a bit of searching I found some in the Smithsonian, but they seem to try to strictly enforce only allowing them to be used by people currently touring the museums there. I guess the worst cases would be I either hang with my crap at a coffee shop for a long while or I can spend the day looking around the Smithsonian (wouldn't be too bad I suppose).

If anyone from around D.C. has any better ideas, I would greatly appreciate your input. Thanks in advance.

GreyDog Bus station probably has some. As I remember, it's somewhere around the Capitol.

Depending on what it is, you can go to any hotel and ask a the bellhop to put it away for you. Then, when you go pick it up you give him a few bucks, take your stuff and you're on your way. Or you can check to see if DC's trunk is available.
