Worth reading for his tirade.

Pat Knight is very talented. He totally would have gotten that Texas Tech gig on his own merit no matter who his father was. He's a lot like Joey Meyer (and someday soon Richard Pitino) in that respect.

I didn't even know Pat Knight landed on his feet - so much for the Southland Conference being a Witness Protection Program.

I just love the article's title.
"Knight talking to son's recruits may have violated recruiting rules"
No one is really sure. The NCAA isn't sure either right now, but I'm sure they'll make up their minds soon enough.

Chad Pennington is someone's Go-To celebrity? Really? That is more shocking then Bob Knight being at odds with the as Bob would pronounce it, In See Two A. Chad Pennington, really? I think kids would recognize Randy Moss more.

As a Marshall alum I can tell you that Mr. Moss is not well liked or respected by the fanbase. Chad Pennington has deity-like status. When he joined the fund raising campaign for the new athletic complex the money started rolling in like crazy.
Edit: David Ridpath, the former Marshall employee quoted in the article, presided over the "Janitor Jobs U" scandal that landed Marshall on probation and effectively killed the football program for the past decade.

What about Byron Leftwich? Is he held in high regard or is he on the fence?

Byron is held in extremely high regard and has maintained close ties to the school.

Another player who is loved by Marshall fans. He does a lot for the Huntington community and did all through his pro career. Obviously not on the same level as the previously mentioned players, but Chris Crocker is another former Herd player who is highly respected in Huntington.
