Looks like Jordan Latham will get to play this year at Loyola and will not have to sit out after transferring from X.

While the article doesn't say so, I have heard that Latham said he came home to take care of a family member. If true, I'm not sure if this was part of or the whole reason to leave X but I wish him the best and look forward to seeing him play for the 'Hounds this year!

That's good for him. I have to wonder how Loyola can get a hardship waiver and we can't ever seem to buy a break...

Depends on how you look at it. In one sense you can't use them right away. In another sense you get to use them a year later.

It's my experience that if a family member is terminally ill, and the player is transferring in order to be close to that member, and the previous institution is supportive of the waiver, then it is a slam dunk. As it should be.

...and nobody cares how good Loyola is or isn't.
