Rookies are players who have not played. Travis Taylor has played 2 years of D1 basketball.

Zagoria reported that the buzz around A-10 people is that if Temple leaves, the A-10 will aggressively pursue replacements. Awesome!
Then he said the replacements being rumored were Boston University and Hofstra.
Here's a hypothetical question -- if X could drag Dayton, SLU, and Butler with them into a 14-team Missouri Valley Conference, isn't that a much better basketball league now and down the road than the A-10 post-Temple?

Better basketball league, yes.
But now that Xavier has an east coast presence when it comes to admitting students to the university, will it be willing to go back to a midwestern-based conference?
It would be funny if programs like Dayton and Butler plunged into irrelevancy in the Missouri Valley like Evansville has done over the last decade. They were almost always a contender in the old MCC but they've had I think only 1 NCAA Tournament berth since joining the Valley.

Yeah, the east coast commitment goes way beyond athletics.
It's just kind of a shame that the A-10 seems to be degrading more and more as the years go on.

The A10 is run by morons.

Who would you invite? Other than Butler, who may or may not take the invite. Some of the better CAA teams? Informal interest has been expressed, but who knows if they want to leave a conference that is in pretty good shape, especially when that conference would probably be better than an A10 without Temple. Some of the C-USA teams? Why would they make what's essentially a lateral move? There aren't many good midmajors that would work. Maybe Western Kentucky, but it looks like the A10 would rather lean towards the east coast.
It's not like we're going to convince Purdue or St. John's to come to the A10.

The A10 has to be proactive, because there's a very reasonable chance they lose more than just Temple. The Big East may well break into two separate leagues in a year or so. Temple could join the football schools, and the basketball schools could well be forced to take 2,3,4 A10 teams to build a respectable league.
McGlade has to be ready. She can't get caught with her thumb up her ass when up to 5 schools move on. One way or another, it's a safe bet the A10 you know today will change by 2014.

We have a weak leader who's really done NOTHING with the A-10 to improve the league.
It's TIME to make some TOUGH decsions.
Trying to pull a Bulter into the A-10 sounds great, but why would they want to go into a conference with St. Bonnie, Fordham and LaSalle ?
If you can eliminate those three and add a Butler, Old Dominion, VCU and George Mason.....or really any 3 of the 4, you've made some progress.
Temple is gone (eventually). We have to either find a comperable replacement (Butler) or stregthen the conference as a whole. We have too many bottom feeders.
Keep:
St Louis
GW
St Joe's
Temple (for now)
X
Dayton
Charlotte
Richmond
UMASS
URI
Dukes
Get rid of:
Fordham
St Bonnie
LaSalle
Recruit:
Butler
GM
Old Dominion
VCU

good stuff here...including some interesting statements about Travis Taylor
"It was a very short recruitment, so we didn’t have the opportunity to watch his entire season on the internet. But we watched several games, three or four or five games, and we could tell he was very talented offensively. He didn’t necessarily have a clue how to play – and sometimes still doesn’t. I think he’s very unorthodox, and I think that’s one of the the things that gives him such a leg up on kids he goes against. He doesn’t do what players maybe traditionally do. Until you see him play, it’s sort of hard to grasp. I think you’ll see that."

Andy Katz kept asking Archie Miller questions about Xavier. Asking how Dayton can get to our level.

The only way UD can get to our level (NCAA tournament) is by buying a ticket
