Rollercoaster first 7 holes in Big Sky country are in the books for Jason. Par on the first hole followed by birdie, then 3 bogies, then 2 birdies. Even par.

Just your standard 7 birdie, 4 bogie 68 for Jason today.

This is a pivotal event for Jason. Larger purse means more $$$ available with good showing against a tough field w/several PGA winners on hand. He is only 10 places from Top 60 on money list to qualify for Nationwide next year & their Tour Championship this year.
Really needs to eliminate those bogies. Only averaged 349 off the tee !!

Made another cut with another 68. No bogies yesterday, so it's a shame he couldn't fire in 7 more birdies!

In great position, but the weekend will tell the story. Move up into double digits and collect a nice check or stumble and fall back into the pack. He's playing well, so keep up the confidence.

-6 through 6. Hello!
Finished the front -5 and is in 3rd. Great start. You really have to go low to make moves on this tour so hopefully he keeps getting birdies on the back and puts himself in position.

Now -7 through 15 and a shot out of the lead.
#16 is. Par 5. Look out!

T1 after a 63. A win means a PGA Tour card in '12 (probably).

Here's one for you--Jason has not made anything over 4 in last 2 rounds. The difference between Thursday & Saturday were those 4 bogies on Thursday compared to 1 bogey total on Friday & Saturday.
Two big points in his favor. He has won enough before to handle the pressure of overnight leader/playing in the last group. Secondly, the other guys near the lead are not proven players by Nationwide standards. Most are far down the $$$ list. The more notables JJ Kileen & Ken Duke are 4 shots behind Jason. Still it is very difficult to follow a great round especially starting w/6 birds out of the gate.
Could be real crowded at Mass Sunday morning; pray to the Sacred Heart (Patron of good drivers).
And "Go" by my quick calculations the winner's check is about $130K added to what Jason has banked already would total about $190K which clearly puts him in the mix of Top 25. Even Second place money should be around $70K which still makes Top 25 within reach.

Jason brought home the win today. I'm watching the tape delay on Golf Channel, but followed his card today from the pga tour app on my phone. He birdied 16 to go up by 2 and pared his final 2 holes. With the win, he SHOULD finish the year in the top 25 and earn his pga tour card. Well done, very proud.
Hell yea!!!!! Kokrak is moving right toward the PGA Tour after today. Congrats Jason!

The freaking writeup from the 3rd round says that Jason is a "26 year old Canadian rookie." Jeezuz.
Uh, he's from Warren, Ohio and went to Xavier. What the he'll kind of research do these people do?
Anyway. Congrats, Mr. Kokrak and Coach Steiner. This is a great day for everyone connected with the Xavier program!

I'm thrilled for Jason, and proud as hell. From a former Xavier golfer who chose to go professional in a profession other than that he played in college, go Jason. You're carrying all our hopes and best wishes with you.

Second that!!!!
Having a former XU guy on the big Tour is going to be awesome. With the way he hits the ball in orbit, he's got a chance to be a huge fan favorite!!!
Go Big J.

MOR; I raised that deal a few weeks ago; their media guide lists Jason as born in Ontario. This week is a life-changer for Jason. Next week is another big purse event in California. He probably jumps 60 places on the money list with this victory and PGA status next year is at hand. He needs to continue his strong play to the finish.

He's 13. Up from 70th. Just needs to play decent the rest of the way. Just make the cuts, etc. That card is his to lose.

Now this is more likie it:
Jason Kokrak Wins (http://www.pgatour.com/2011/tournaments/h027/09/18/rd4-wrapup/index.html#)
I can't tell you how proud this makes me as a former Xavier Golf Team Captain. While it is an individual accomplishment, it speaks to the advancement of the program under Coach Doug Steiner. It will only get even better when the "Home Course" project in combo with Maketewah is completed. That will finally provide an all weather, all-year workout and practice facility for the players, both men and women.
I'm in substantially with bucks for that project. If anyone has a few extra shillings to throw in, I'm sure that the All for One, care of the "Xavier Golf Home Course" project will be happy to take your check.

Kokrak has around $187k in winnings in 2011. In 2010, the 25th place finisher ended with around $209k. So still a bit of work for Jason to do, but it sure is looking good. I think he should just go ahead and win this weekend and erase all doubt.

How is his last name properly pronounced? Kock-rack, or Koe-krack?

Thanks. Figured I'd better know how to say my new favorite golfer's name correctly.
