View Full Version : Is there a whinier bitch in pro sports than Andy Roddick?
I want to root for an American in the US Open, but Andy Roddick is the biggest baby I've ever seen. He pouts like a 6 year old girl whenever something's bothering him, like today. If this were a one time thing, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, as I'm sure he has reason to be upset about something, but the way he handles these things routinely are so juvenile. Maybe I'm the only one who watches tennis, I don't know, but if anyone just saw the last ten minutes of ESPN2 coverage that I watched, you'll understand what I'm saying. We get it, Andy. The conditions suck. Mother Nature is a whore. There's a spot a few feet behind the end line that bothers you. Is any of that really any reason to cross your arms and stomp your feet like a child who's not allowed to go to the ice cream store? I hope Ferrer smokes him.

It would be funnier if John McEnroe would call out Roddick for being a whiner.
Then again, tennis in general is in a no-win situation. They can't win when the players aren't dynamic enough, and they certainly can't win when they're over-emotional. Which is it?

He could probably get away with the whining if he was any good. My problem with Roddick is that the general public is still under the impression that he is/was an awesome tennis player.

I like Roddick, but I can't disagree. He should be thankful he's made it this far.
What he did in Cincinnati was funny...but also a little sad. He shouldn't be acting like this.

I almost caught the ball Roddick hit into the stands, went right over my head, hit 2 rows behind me (almost went out of the stadium) then bounced back in between me and the guy next to me but unfortunately he had quicker hands.
I used to like Andy Roddick. I want to like Andy Roddick. He's an American who's been on the verge of being elite, but has never quite gotten there. That's exactly who you want to root for, but he makes it more and more difficult every time I watch him. It'll be interesting to see if he can give Nadal any trouble today, but moreover, it'll be interesting to see whether he blows up when something doesn't go his way. And it's not that he blows up, it's how he does it. He just has such a bratty attitude. He's somebody I'd like to see get hit in the face some time.
