Helluva first round for Jason today. Had 4 bogies on the front and was as high as +3 (after 7 holes) but battled back with a back nine 33 to finish -1. Currently in a 28 way tie for 29th, only 4 back of the leaders. We may have actually found a reasonably difficult (for pros) course on the Nationwide Tour.

Now tied for 31, but within the cut.
Interesting leaderboard sidenote:
Ty Tryon- the 18 year old who qualified for the big PGA Tour a few years ago, went out there with an entire entourage then failed miserably- is playing this weekend. I can't imagine how he has any status but, whatever......
.....Oh, he's last with an 8 over 79.

I think Tryon got sick and has never been the same. He qualified for the US Open this year...and it did not go well for him.

With most scores in, Jason is now tied for 40th- barely on the cut line.
Damn. Rocco Mediate is playing in that tournament. He shot 2 over. Might miss the cut.

Can players who aren't left in the FedEx Cup race participate in Nationwide events? Mediate sounds a little too high-profile to be playing on Nationwide right about now.

If you have status on the regular tour, you can play any Nationwide event, whenever the hell you want to.
We got a guy at -10 now and Jason doesn't tee off until 3. I agree with MOR though, it seems like this is a difficult course by Nationwide standards, not that I've ever seen it or anything.

It looks like they're playing at Southpointe.
Very hilly (imagine that for Western PA.).

A little hilly but a very tight course. Not a fun one to walk. Its in a housing/corporate office plan and its a lot of walking an crossing streets. I'm here watching since I live 5 min away and noticed today he was playing. Thru 3 holes today he is -1. He's -2 for the tournament with the cut being projected at -2.

Yep.
Through 10 holes he's still 1 under for the day, 2 under for the Tournament and right smack dab on the cut line.
Sounds like a course where you can't just bomb it. JK's gonna have to play those too.

Lookin better.
Now JK is 2 under for the day and 3 under for the Tourney after 16 today- and he's now playing a 540 yard par 5.
Cut is holding at 2 under.

Wow.
Bogeyed the last hole, but JK made the cut right on the number at 2 under.
Well, he's made the weekend. Now go low and make some dough.

Five bogies on the front 9 for Jason today. Not his best effort.

-1 today and even par for the Tournament. Finished 60th and won a couple grand.
Can't play even par on that tour. You'll barely make cuts.
