Big Surprise.

Good article by Jeff Goodman on how few Mc D's All Americans actually make the NBA.

Quotes like "Education is Key". "Go to a good school".

"Get your degree," Michael Thompson said. "Everyone that was there won't be there when it goes sour. Everyone blowing smoke up your ass won't be there. Go to a good school because, at the end of the day, you have yourself. No one is going to help you."

I hope that kids like Kareem Canty who feel inclined to listen to their AAU coaches, read this article.

Only 5 from 2002 McD's AA made NBA (http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/story/15421905/class-of-2002-serves-as-a-cautionary-tale-for-todays-allamericans)

I don't disagree with what you're saying, but could we all please refrain from insulting Canty every other thread. The man made his choice, and I hope he is successful wherever he goes. All of us have listened to some bad advice...no need to rub it in so often.

Not an insult on Canty, but self-absorbed guys like Dingle who act like they are giving a kid advice when all they are really doing is blowing up their own self-importance.

I have, and always will have, a severe problem with AAU and most of their "coaches". I've just seen and heard too much.
