this is bullshit! I'm not much of a concert guy, but I was realllllllly looking forward to them coming to Riverbend later this month. Now word is they have cancelled the rest of their American tour after the lead singer walked off stage in the middle of their Dallas concert.

No one's saying it officially, but there has to be some deep issues within the band to blow up a schedule that still had a ton of dates left on it. What's worse, they start another international tour in the fall, so if they do get their shit together they won't be coming anywhere near here for a long time.

Stupid prima-dona rock stars.

EDIT: It looks like the band themselves have called out Caleb Followill (who is their own brother) as being the reason why.

Caleb is a drunk. They need to pull a Strokes and take a break for the next 5 years. I can't wait for VH1 Behind the Music: Kings of Leon. I miss the old KoL.

Do yourself a favor. Go see Paul McCartney. I believe he's in Cincinnati this week. Just saw him at Wrigley last night. 69 year old man played back-to-back three hour shows on Sunday and Monday. He would have gone longer if city ordinances didn't force the show to end at 11pm. Total class act.

He can't be that much of a rockstar if he's never puked on stage.

Saw these guys in Ottawa two years ago. Great concert. It's a shame they canceled the current tour.

maybe his drinking explains the lameness they've had the past two albums. They used to be such a great rock band and then it all went vanilla.

The lameness is because they stopped doing coke, not the drinking. They haven't had a good album since Because of the Times.

Really? I think Come Around Sundown is the best album they put out. It does have a more mellow sound than early stuff, but I love just about every song on that album.

I love that the singer told the Dallas crowd a few songs into their set that he is going to go puke backstage, come back, and play three more songs then leave... then their publicist comes out and says his voice was shot due to heat exhaustion. "Exhaustion" is a favorite word for publicists of these stars that have drug and alcohol problems. Lindsey Lohan had a few nasty cases of exhaustion on sets... Amy Winehouse was treated for exhaustion a few times, too.

Kudos to his brothers for calling out his issue and making him face it, otherwise he could be dead in no time. The next day his one brother went on twitter and said the publicist was full of shit and he wouldn't lie to their fans and that they all know what the problem really is.

I was really into the more indie sound of their earlier stuff but didn't hate their cleaned up rock and roll sound of their latest albums. Either way, I just recently discovered the wonders of torrent downloads and have like a good days worth of unreleased Ryan Adams. I am in heaven.

Torrents are the greatest thing to ever happen to music lovers. It's how I got my collection to up over 80 gigs.

The idea that somehow, someday he will control and enjoy his drinking is the great obsession of every abnormal drinker. The persistence of this illusion is astonishing. Many pursue it into the gates of insanity or death.

The library is the legal version of torrents. It is 100% legal to get a CD out from the library and add it to your collection for personal use. Sharing it beyond that, not so much. Torrents are almost always copyright violations. Keep in mind that when you are downloading music via torrents, you are most likely also uploading that same material to someone else, which makes you part of the copyright violation process.

I don't know where things like live recordings and unreleased material fit. Back in the early (free) napster days, I picked up a lot of cover songs, live versions, etc that I still have. I miss that part of file sharing.

I need some help here. I am a music freak, love live shows and am open to new bands as long as they don't get too poppy. For the life of me I can get into KOL but I really want to because their following is crazy loyal (so there must be somethign there that I am missing). KOL are like tomatoes to me..they look good, most people I know think the world of them but everytime I take a bite....yuk. Can someone give me 5 tracks that you feel would get someone hooked in them?

Can't do Fleet Foxes either...

I'm fully aware of downloading free music being illegal, but I have NO problems consciously with downloading unreleased copyright material. If Lost Highway would have released all those albums Ryan Adams was pumping out, I'da bought 'em.

Recording and sharing live shows is something that is strictly up to the band's policy on the issue. Some bands have no problems with it. Most (signed bands) won't let you, most likely due to rules their record companies have. Jerks.

Two out of those five aren't bad. I'll let you guess which two I'm talking about.

Well, performing after drinking yourself blind every day for the past month is pretty exhausting. So its fair to say that "exhaustion" is the reason for cancelling the tour, but its not the root cause reason.
