After reading post after post from Reds fans about my Cardinals it dawned on me that Reds fans are really similar to dayton fans. Here is why

- cheer for a team with preseason promise but said teams shits the bed when it actually matters.
- always complains that the best team in the conference/division (Xavier and St. Louis) constantly whines and is classless.
- made it to the post season randomly the other year, but really didn't do much once they got there.
- neither team has tasted consistent success since the 70's.

Very good comparison, now who would Bengals fans compare to?

I'm tempted to say Cubs fans. The only difference is I think Bengals fans are a little more egger to give up their tickets to screw over Mikey while Cubs fans will forever loyally buy tickets for crap.

This year. This hasn't been true very often over the last 15 years.

Why do you have to beat us while were down? I'm sure if the cards were 4 games out you'd rethink making this, (especially on a xavier board where you know there are reds fans)... that is all. Oh yeah brewers will take the central so don't get your hopes up

I would say special olympians. They keep going to the event, they keep seeming to have a good time, and they don't seem to realize or care that the whole thing is retarded.

- Brewers are the best team in the division.
- Congrats on trading the best hitting prospect you've had since Pujols for a bunch of crap, good move by the drunk Larussa in running him off.
- O and you're team is still a bunch of bitches.

I think I made this comparison last fall and was told I was wrong.

I also pointed out that their would be no guarantee the Reds would be back in the playoffs just because they made it last year. I think I was told I was wrong again.

hmm.

I can't argue w/ your first point. The Reds have shit the bed.

However, on your second point, Reds fans are right - the Cardinals are a bunch of whiners. Carpenter complained about the mound, the smoke from the fireworks, the baseballs being rubbed poorly, and "how is he ever going to explain the brawl to his dear son". How is that not whining?

ud fans are just wrong - I'm pretty sure no Xavier player has bitched like Carpenter & LaRussa have.

Wow you really are a genius! And people actually doubted your superior intellect and all-knowing insight? How dare they! And, BTW, the correct spelling is "there".

The Reds need as many Dayton fans as they can get, they need their money to sign Votto. That said, two things bug me,

1) There are Cardinal fans that share my interest in XU hoops.
2) There are Dayton fans that share my interest in Reds baseball.

I just feel like I need a shower.

As others have said the Brewers will win this division. They are the best all around team.
I don't have any problems with Cardinals fans, but Carpenter is the biggest pussy in MLB.
As far as the Dayton/Reds fans......this goes out the window because the Reds won the league last year.....Dayton will never win the A-10. Automatically disqualified.

I feel really bad for Dayton/Cleveland Browns fans. How they are not throwing themselves off bridges is a testament to their perseverance.

Or they have no idea on how to do it properly.

You went out on a limb and said a team had no guarantee of repeating? You sir are Captain Courgeous.

I thought X and Dayton were on a relatively fair playing field. Then there are the Cardinals who went out and bought Holiday. Then Berkman. Not to mention the ability to absorb bad signings like Mulder.

And you'll retain Pujols while the likes of Milwaukee will lose Fielder. It's called a rigged game.

Personally, I wanted the Reds to be Kingmaker and give players to Mil just to tilt race in their favor. Tony L is a fraud who made his career on roiders. And yes, Albert is a roider.

I'm really enjoying how Reds fans are now telling me they knew they wouldn't get back to the playoffs. Just go back and read the thread from last years playoffs, or just look at the thread for MLB 2011 Who ya got? I think there are ten predictions, eight of them had the Reds winning their division. I'm pretty sure they did that, since they won the division the year before.

I'd say that the Reds have a forgiving August schedule, but that's only going to bring allusions to Dayton's tough scheduling in the noncon portion of the season.

I guess they are destined to be a .500 team this year, so getting swept by the Mets and possibly sweeping the defending World Series champions afterwards would sum up the Reds perfectly for 2011.
