New women's roster posted

Well, the new roster has been posted and it appears that Rutan was the only transfer. That's the good news. The bad news is that it appears that we will have no freshman class. Sarah Hartwell, of course, decommitted during the coaching search, and neither Liz Stratman or Dominique Singletary are listed on the roster. Thus, the roster stands at 10 players for the upcoming season.

With 3 players graduating after the upcoming season, Waugh and staff have a lot of work to do.

Not sure if that'll be your final roster. I seem to recall a season when they didn't put the frosh players on till they showed up at beginning of classes in sept.

Amy definitely has a lot of work to do. I wish her luck. McGuff left the cupboard bare even before the withdrawals. As far as Singletary is concerned I don't think she ever lived up to Xaviers expectations in high school after they got her commitment. I saw her play several times over two years and I don't think she can help us.

Looks like we can use a couple more players on the roster, esp. in the post position. Sabrina is a senior and was not a dominant player. We need a backup center now.

I finally had a chance to do a Google search, and nowhere have I found that Liz Stratman has de-committed. In fact, this article printed about 20 days ago still says that she is coming to X:

Nice article, good size, like the leadership comments from her coach. decent offensive numbers, anyone know what class her school competed in?

Well, we have our answer.

The roster now adds:

#5 Liz Stratman
#1 Tykeisha O'Neill

So Stratman is coming and we add O'Neill from JC. That's a good roster of 12 players. I'll take that and run with it after a coaching change.

As I suspected, I've seen this in the past, and same thing with the transfer of Isaiah Philmore on the men's side. X puts them on the list when they are certain it's happening, like when registration is complete, and they are actually on campus.

I may be wrong, but I believe that is correct PA. They get 15 total scholarships so it looks like they should have 3 left. I would imagine it is the staff's discretion as to how and when they are used.
