Especially when you're coming back from vacation. this time last week I was on a golf course in North Carolina playing one of the shittiest rounds of my life, but it didn't matter because I was on vacation. Ahh, to remember that younger, more innocent me from last week makes me cry a little inside as I look back from my bleak real life existance.

I didn't gloat when I was down there, but I sure as hell want you guys (and girls) to share my misery this Monday morning.

So tell me, what are some of the tips and tricks that you all can share to help make this return to the real world a little less painful?

Start researching the next vacation spot.

I think about the four/five months I spent last year when I thought I was going to be out of work at the end of January this year. That makes me feel like Monday mornings at a job aren't so bad after all.

That's a good idea, Drudy, but my next one is set for Destin, FL in October. After that, I will be too poor to even consider vacation for the next decade or so.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS come back on Sunday and take the Monday off too. Never start back on Monday. Let everyone else deal with the crises and the problems on Monday. Come back on Tuesday.

Was there the week before last. Always fought going there, because it seemed to be where "everyone" from Louisville went when I was growing up. But it really is super nice. Can't believe how clear the water was. When I'm a little more a high-roller, perhaps I'll rent a place in Sandestin for a vacation. Nice little community they've got going there, but pricey as hell.

I greatly prefer Orange Beach over Destin. Great sand, great water, great food, good golf, less pricey, lots of people but way less congested than Destin.

Tip for Destin:

new cheap airline based there if you fly out of L'Ville:

Destin isn't really my choice. I'm going there for a wedding.

Bobbie, you have made my day much, much brighter. I had already resigned myself to the idea of driving 24 hours in 4 days to go down there and back because I couldn't find any airfare for less than 300/person. Vision Airlines isn't booking out that far yet, but if I can secure airfare for the whole family for under 400, I will be the happiest person alive.

I like the idea of waiting until Tuesday to come back, Muskiefan82.

Vicodin.

Best idea yet, but I ran out of my prescription a while back and am too cheap to buy any at 10 bucks a pop.

No advice from me but I can tell you one thing that will make it worse: reading about others vacation plans when you have nothing on the books until January!!

Here's another cheapie for you going to Disney, etc. Flys outta Lexington right across from the Keeneland entrance to the Sanford/Orlando airport which is NOT NEAR Disney but only a 20+ mile toll road away from the attractions. I have taken this flight twice this yr. Ironically, the tickets are $20 cheaper each way if you go to the airport, instead of buying online(?). I paid $39.99 + $10.70 tax and bought my return ticket when I got to Lexington, rented a car to Cincy once and Indianapolis the other time. They try to upsell EVERYTHING, just keep saying no.

Just move to your favorite vacation spot. I've been on Jekyll Island for a week now. Greatest move we ever made. Its like living with northerners but with economic benefits of the south. I am a happy mofo now.

I just worked my last Monday until September. I love being a teacher.
