Hey I was wondering if anyone would be interested in having a XavierHoops fantasy baseball league? If you're interested either PM me or post in this thread.

I might. I'm the biggest baseball fan in the world....just never got into the fantasy stuff. I'd consider it.

Well considering I dominated the MusketeerMadness fantasy football league until my team sucked it up in the Championship, I might as well give it a shot in another Xavier league. So I would be interested.

I'm down. Just PM me the info for the league. I think we should all keep the same names too for recognition.

Alright, I just set up a league over at Yahoo. I've used it for fantasy baseball before and it's a solid system. Here is the information:

Excellent. Just saw a special on ESPN celebrating ESPN The Mag's 10th anniversary and they did a piece on Josh Hamilton. I'm gonna miss that kid. I just wish the Reds would swing Votto for Blanton.

here you go Drew
Ahh thank you. I didn't even see that.
2 suggestions BBC. Did you think about making it rotisserie? I have played in a roto league for 4 years now and love it. I am getting sick and tired of having a good to great season and lose in the stupid playoffs. Fantasy playoffs are way too unpredictable.
Also, if you don't wanna make it a roto league, you need to raise the minimum innings pitched to way above 7. It needs to be around like 13-15. I played in a head-head league last year that only required 10 innings and just stacked up on sicknasty relievers, without ever using a SP. I sacrificed wins but killed in every other category. Just a thought.

Heavily disagree with the first, agree with the 2nd but think it should be even higher around 25-30.
Non head-to-head limits the personal rivalries.

I guess you could say that.
Fantasy playoffs are getting so tiresome. You play the entire season, and with baseball it is a lot of work, only to have your whole season hinge on how your starters do in one week. So stupid.
Have you ever played roto before? It is a lot more strategy and planning your roster for long term benefits. Reminds me much more of real baseball.
Oh yeah, and I'm drafting Johan first pick, so don't even think about it.

I used to play HTH when we had a league at a restaurant I worked at. I loved the trash talking element.

Guess I am the only who likes roto.....
The only reason is because the last two years I have been in first or second in my H to H league and both times my pitchers had a bad week and lost in the playoffs. All that work every day to keep my team updated for 5 months for one week to be perfect.
But I agree with the Artist, if we do H to H, you need to majorly increase the IP part.

xuirish is handing me my ass in the finals this week. Nice time for my squad to take a dump - and way to go Jake Peavy for missing your start last night to witness the birth of your child while leaving my team for dead.

Andre Ethier did that to me last week, its a bunch of bullcrap. Why not get someone to video tape it and watch it later? Thank God I didnt need him.
