She was shady to begin with, and unfortunately she has dropped even lower in standards of class.

The Duke players were no saints, but they got a raw deal out of it. An over-zealous lawyer and a angry, delusional woman ended the lacrosse careers of several individuals. And that same woman has allegedly ended the life of another.

I followed the Duke case very closely because I knew people on that team. This actually isn't new news, just a recent arrest. The woman is and always was batshit crazy, and the Durham DA is and always was a complete moron. The Duke lacrosse players were no angels, but they never should've had to go through what they did.

I am of the mindset that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have done far more to set race-relations back than they have to move it forward. They are nothing but opportunistic scam artists.

Opportunists like Nancy Grace, The Jacksons, Sharpton, that Gloria Allred wannabe Wendy Murphy, some college professors, etc all jumped aboard the "They are guilty because they are affluent young men" train.

I don't believe they sued Duke (the Duke president is an ass and threw them under the bus, but he was careful to reprimand them for only underage drinking).

They did sue Nifong and the state. I believe that suit is ongoing.

Edit: my fault. They did file a suit against Duke.

I think that part of Nifong's bankruptcy was something like $150 million in restitution that he owned the Duke Lacrosse kids.

The article still makes it sound like she is still a victim of some kind, so maybe they'll pick up on that:

I agree with this assessment of the article. A man is dead decades before his time, yet somehow she is the victim. At this point, she has only been charged, but still, I pity the man and the family and friends he left behind much more than I pity her.
