with GT. Apparently part of the buy-out to get Gregory.

We should have done that with Arizona and Ohio State

Our situation was a little bit different that theirs in both instances. When both Matta and Miller left, the fans and administration were happy with them and their leaving left a bitter taste in our mouths. Most of the fans (and I have to believe the administration) in Dayton are happy to see him go, so the bad blood doesn't really exist to stop a series from happening.

I would be a little surprised if Georgia Tech came to Dayton any time soon. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see GT just throw a couple hundred grand to UD to make the whole thing go away. It was a good move on Dayton's part, but I just can't see it happening.
BG should fire his lawyer/agent. Guy signed one of the worst extensions I have ever seen. His buyout was insanely low, UD could have fired him for like 20% of the contract. Therein lies the real reason why he left. He knew he was probably gone with one more bad year, and with 2 top 150 recruits jumping ship, the odds of succeeding next year were slim. Oddly enough he bought himself about 4 years of job security with the move.

Interesting. I saw it mentioned on the A-10 board that it could be bought out (but you never can tell over at that place). Well at least they'll get some cash out of the deal if it happens.
If GT is any good the year after next, perhaps BG does want to do the game and beat UD at UD?

In other news, dayton apparently couldn't secure one of the retiring space shuttles for the Air Force Museum today. At least they got the GT game...

recruiting is going to be very tough in Dayton. Said Billy Staten "we just felt the Space Shuttle was better than what WPAFB offered"...they were going to put it in a museum with a bunch of small air planes, which would detract attention from the focal point. I mean, the shuttle has been in space, it shouldn't be regressing."

I think Dayton is going to suck worse than normal for a few years while Archie attempts to recruit players to that hell hole. Any coach has an uphill battle trying to convince kids to spend 4 years of their lives living in Dayton and getting beat to death by Xavier. Archie may get them back to the top half of the A-10, but I think it will take time.
And in other news, I won't lose one bit of sleep if dayton continues to suck a bag of dicks from now until eternity. BG was not a good coach at dayton, and will be exposed as a bad coach at GT.

If a Brian Gregory team played UD in Cincinnati, would it end in a tie?

The 2 incoming class Freshman decommitted today. Add that to the lose of their top 2 freshman last year (Staten and Spearman) and Chris Wright, it may be a long year for the dayton.
