How many of those games are A-10 teams playing AT Big Greased teams?

Answer- about 80% except for 'Nova at Temple and SucKS at XU.

"The A-10 will make at least 32 appearances in each of the next two seasons across ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU. The agreement also includes a live telecast of the women’s championship finals in 2012 and 2013.

During the 2010-11 season, A-10 men’s and women’s basketball made 56 total appearances on ESPN’s networks."

It will be more newsworthy should the A-10 get additional games on the CBS Sports network next season (and yes, CBSCSCCCP is changing their name again to the CBS Sports network).

I don't really get what you are trying to say here. If I had to guess, I would say about 75% of the games won't even include a BE team.

For the record, not everything ESPN does has to do with the Big East.

Aren't almost all of the Big East's games at home? It's hard to show a Big East road game when they don't play any.

Or more like 4/24.
Using the A10 media guide as a reference, and not counting Temple, SLU and Charlotte's games in tournaments (i.e. Old Spice, etc.), I show 24 games were televised on ESPN/2/U last year.
10 were A10 games.
Of the 14 non-con games, 4 were @ Big East teams, 2 were home to BE and 1 neutral court vs. BE (although that was Duq v Pitt at Consol which I think was Duq's home game); the other 7 were 2 at home, 5 on the road. But let's not let the facts get in the way of a good conspiracy theory.

This deal sounds like it will be more of the same.

This is correct. They also have to do with the Yankees, Red Sox, Cowboys, and Lebron James' every move.

isn't 7 of 14 non-con games against one particular conference a pretty significant number? nearly as much a-10/Big-E coverage as straight up A-10. Not necessarily surprising since the Big E--whether we like it or not--does have a lot of national appeal and ESPN has to drive ratings. But let's not discount 7 of 24 games as an insignificant number, it's nearly 1/3 of total A-10 appearances.

Based on geography and the fact that the BE & A10 share the same overall markets, including many in the exact same market, I would expect many more of the A10 non-con games against BCS teams to be against the Big East versus the other five conferences. So I'm not surpised that 1/2 of the non-con ESPN televised games are against BE teams. However, to imply that the only reason ESPN would televise the A10 is if they play @ a BE team, is wrong.

It's just a very convenient way to kill two birds with one stone.

Well, since basketball is done it is now

ALL RED SOX/YANKEES ALL THE TIME on the 4 letter network. With occasional tennis thrown in.

Sadly, they'll spend more time talking about how the Red Sox are shitty and how Lebron's mom might as well be his daughter than they will about the NHL playoffs.

With the occasional Mets/Phillies game mixed in as well.

I'd really like to know more about the specifics of the deal are, the biggest specfic being how the revenue will be shared throughout the conference for non-conference games.

It wouldn't surprise me if we agreed to a deal where non-conference revenue is shared for games like the crosstown shootout. I don't know if the league did or didn't, but if they did, that is much more upsetting than the fact that some of the OOC games are against Big East teams. If the only OOC games are Xavier, Temple and a handful of others, it isn't in our best interest to include OOC games as part of the deal. I'd rather keep that revenue for ourselves.

I realize this points the finger at the league office and not ESPN or the Big East, so I hope this isn't considered a thread-hijack, but I'm interested in knowing more about the deal.

....And ESPN is not the only network out there. If everyone who had gripes about ESPN would go do their own thing, it would be better for everyone. the Mountain West cut ties with ESPN, and is coming off their most successful football and basketball season ever. They're also breaking up....but....well, okay. They're breaking up. But you get my point.
