The same teams win every year and that cannot be good. Two thing need to happen. First either add teams and limit scholarships to 10 per institution or put UCONN and Tennessee in the WNBA. Oh and put a freaking 10 second rule in place to get it over half court like the men's game. How can anyone take women's basketball serious with the current landscape?

And it's really absurd that Gonzaga played the 1st, 2nd, and regional rounds in Spokane.

It is troubling that it's a UConn, Tennessee, Stanford world, but it's getting better.
Xavier getting a touch away from the final four last year, Texas A&M getting in this year, are two signs that there is a shift in power.
There always talk about tweaking the rules, but really the 10second backcourt count is nothing that really has an effect on the game since it combines with a shorter shot clock and differences in the 5 second closely guarded rule.
The best players always want to go to the best teams, so how do you start to break in? I think Coach McGuff has done an excellent job getting much better prospects to XU.
One thing that towns like Cincinnati could do to help improve things is to get out and support the teams, to have a measly 2500 per game home average at XU over the past 2 years is a farce, and yes near empty arenas have a negative effect on recruiting. All other factors being equal what high school star would look at about 1500 people in the Cintas Center for a game, and chose that over 8500 up in South Bend watching the Irish or 10 grand in Storrs for a UConn game?
I think another huge issue is that female sports at the high school level is still lagging behind the boys in development. But over the past say 10 years, there has been an explosion in AAU ball and that has brought money into the game. Teams are becoming organizations with teams are multiple age groups, venues are popping up (there are several top notch in Cincinnati) that are filling up with more and more weekend tourneys.
The more private money that goes into the sport the better.
