Sure, they lost 22-2 at home to Kent this week, but with a win over Temple yesterday the Muskies improved to 15-8, 1-0 in the A-10. That includes winning 2 of 3 at Louisville (who was ranked in the top 20 at the time).
That's the best record I can ever remember Xavier having at this point in the season.

We usually get drilled on our early season southern swing, but basically held our own other than losing 4 to "southern schools". The early season results bode well for the conference schedule which we are basically into now, other than games against SucKS and games against Oh-ho-ho State, Ohio and Kentucky.
Win the league and you are in the NCAAs. That's what counts.

Xavier split a double-header today against Temple. They should have one both, but Willoughby blew the save in the 9th in the first game.
Last year, Xavier played a lot more tougher teams than this year. They started out against the likes of Tennessee, Georgia Tech, and a whole slew of other top-notch teams.
This year they have 4 great seniors leading the team. First is John McCambridge, a center fielder who bats leadoff and bats over .400. Next is Ben Thomas, a first baseman/dh who has massive power and has hit second of late and bats over .400. Then there is Ryan Bellamy, a catcher who is another solid .400 hitter and bats 3rd. Finally, the shortstop is Phil Bauer who is hitting in the lower .300's. He could have knocked in the tying and/or winning run in today's first game with the bases loaded, be he struck out.
They are very experienced, and its no wonder they were projected to finish second in the league this year. I wouldn't be surprised if they finished 1st.
Not that any of you care, but I thought I would offer my limited knowledge of the baseball team.

I love a sport where the Big 10 is a mid-major.

Swept by Charlotte.
2-4 in A10 play. Rough start so far in conference.
Home this weekend vs Richmond. Friday at 3. Saturday at 1. Sunday at noon.
Have to get 2 out of 3 this weekend or it could be a near disaster of a start.

Well, they're now 18-18 after losing 8 out of 10. They did have a 9 game winning streak earlier in the year including winning 2 out of 3 vs. Big Greased Champ Louisville.
This seems to be "Team Streak."
