Why anyone would choose to play for Gregory, and volunteer to spend 4 years of their lives in Dayton is beyond me.
Good luck to Staten, he seemed like a good kid and solid player.

I agree. It's not good when a good player leaves any school in the A10. But I don't blame Staten. BG is a horrible coach, and the cryers have underachieved for years.

I'm just going to throw this out there and I hope I don't get killed for this, but is there any chance he would transfer to X? I can't remember, did X recruit him? Would UD be able to block such a transfer? Just a thought.

No chance that he comes to X. By conference rules, he would have to sit out two years for transferring in conference. Besides, we are loaded at PG.

he will most likely go to uc, ohio st., or zona.

With Spearman leaving as well I am sure Brian Gregory is trying like crazy to land a new gig.

No. Why would it be sarcasm? They all offered him and tried to get him out of high school. UC will need a PG to take over for Cashmere Wright and they are close, Ohio St. is close and he had a good relationship with Sean Miller and staff when they were here. Sean also offered him when he went to Arizona.

No way Zona. UC has Guyn coming in and OSU has Craft. He'll probably end up at Clemson with Brownell.

This is why he isn't going to Arizona: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Josiah-Turner-88699

I know some of us want the worst for Dayton, but it would stink if we have a potential star player leave the A10.
The A10 seems to be like that plate spinning act that was popular with circuses in the70's and 80's. The goal is to get all 14 schools performing at their peak, at the same time. It seems like whenever one rises, another has to fall. Look at GW a few short years ago they were a perenial NCAA team and now the have to work hard to even get into their conference tourney. St. Louis and Charlotte showed promise when they were in C-USA. (We won't even get into the Bonnies, Fordham, or LaSalle)
Seems like you can count on us and Temple every year to be strong, other than that the other schools have breif flashes of greatness. I recall uMass had a few good seasons, I recall when Richmond was a mess a few short years ago, and look at them now in the Sweet 16. Duquesne (although having the tragedy a few years ago), seems to be coming into their own lately under Everhart. Dayton sure gets the hype - pre seaosn champs and all that, but as has been noted it never comes to fruitiion.
Just imagine an A10 with Xavier, Dayton, Temple, Richmond, and Dusquene all firing on all cylinders at the same time for one thig, then if we could get uMass, Rhody, St Louis and Charlotte up to speed.
All that said, I can fully understand the angle of sadisticaly enjoying UD Pride going into thermonucelar meltdown. But wait, there's always next year :)
(Of course, Dayton yould replace their team wth that Caltech Div III team that hadn't won a conference game in like 320 tries, and they would still sell out UD Arena every game) If you ever wonder how BG keeps his job, that would be top on the list.

Agree with this. UC's set with Wright and Guyn. The Bucks are set with Craft - the kid's gonna be a stud the next few years, and they got another great PG in Shannon Scott coming in next year. It'll be real interesting to see where Staten goes. Looking at his old Rivals page the only other team on there that was listed as recruiting him that I've not seen mentioned here is Purdue but I'm not sure off the top of my head how their PG depth is. He's got a boatload of talent though, so for his sake I hope he finds the right fit.
