That Gonzaga has the opportunity to earn a trip to the Final Four without ever leaving Spokane?

Yeah, it's not looking like a favorable atmosphere if we advance tomorrow... With that said, I think our defense is far superior to UCLA's when we bring it.

Also, off-topic, but UCLA's coach could be a model.

ESPN announcer just whined that Gonzaga had to travel all the way to Sacramento to face Xavier in the Sweet Sixteen last year. This year they don't have to endure such a hardship.

Give them credit for one thing, they fill the arena.

That's why they don't have to leave Spokane.

I'm glad someone else mentioned this because I was going too if no one did... Two years ago they played in Seattle and won 1st round. Last year they played in Seattle again and made it to the sweet sixteen beating a 2 seed Texas A&M and then lost to us in the sweet sixteen. This year they won't leave their home town. Doesn't that seem extremely favorable compared to Xavier. Its stupid. I hate the womens selection committee. The bracket was set up horribly this year in my opinion. It pays to be on the west coast cause so many teams out there suck you're all most assured games out there in the big dance. Certain east coast teams have to go out there. It seems like Xavier is always one of them. I say get rid of the west regional and put 2 sites more central like Texas and Nebraska that way our east teams can actually bring some fans...

It goes both ways - DePaul had to play on Penn State's home court; the Lions were 9-0 on their home floor going into last night. The Demons did win, though.
Gonzaga still has Courtney Vandersloot (2,000 pts and 1,000 assists for her career) but not quite the supporting cast they did last year. They'll be playing in Spokane but they won't be on their true home floor (Spokane Arena). If they're not hitting from outside they're a very beatable team.
But first things first - a game with Louisville awaits.
