Winner gets Louisville - the Cards make it look rather easy against Vandy today. The UofL faithful had about 2,000 in attendance today.

This is a much better start than last year - after a brief 6-5 lead by SDSU Xavier is now on a 12-2 run.

17-8 X (12:40 left in the 1st half)

Ladies looked good today. Louisville may be a handful on Tuesday.

72 - 56

Too much height for the Jackrabbits...couldn't buy an offensive rebound.

Gool luck to Xavier in the rest of the tourney.

That was a great game! We had a lot of fun. That ladies looked great. There was a slight scare when Special Jennings when out for a bit, but she came back and looked as good as ever.

We need as many X fans as possible to come out Tuesday night. There were a ton of Louisville fans there and they were obnoxious during their game.

Thanks for playing. Really. Your team gave us a good game the first half. The last 2 minutes of the first half was the game and momentum changer.

Your fans travelled well for coming from so far.

Feel free to stop by to talk more womens hoops.

Forgot to mention, I think I saw offensive rebounds on sale in the team spirit shop on the concourse. I think you had what, 1 the entire game.

Best of luck next season.

When aren't UL fans obnoxious?

The ladies played well but agree that they will have to step it up on Tuesday to advance to Spokane.

I counted 2 offensive boards for the Jackrabbits, but by the time they got them the game was out of reach.

Xavier did beat the Cards by 12, although November may as well have been last year compared to how Louisville has evolved this season.

Special note: it was nice meeting XU-PA He is a great fan.

Though- it was a good thing you moved to your rightful seat for game 2. (some loserville fans were in his seats for game 1 and he was totally understanding.). The seat he vacated after game 1 turned out to be Sr. Rose's seat.

Only glitch today was the tickets the NCAA sent out were incompatible with the ticketmaster scanners at the gates. At first they were insisting everybody go to the ticket windows to have your ticket reprinted with Xavier's ticketing machine. After the line got obnoxious (and inpatient) with only one agent, someone in charge realized they merely have to tear tickets to solve the problem.

Overall, this was a solid game. Little sluggish at times but the ladies haven't played in about 2 weeks so that was expected a little bit. I do think they need to be better against Louisville, but I believe they will...

Ps does anyone else think that if the refs wanted they could call a foul against the girl/girls guarding Ta'Shia on every single play... It just seems like she's always being held, pushed, something... It just amazes me when they'll call her for something minor with the beating she takes down low. That wasn't a problem today but it makes me nervous against better teams cause if her or amber get in foul trouble I'd be scared to say the least..

Someone in my section and in my seat might have been screaming at the refs because Ta'Shia was getting fouled on nearly every possession. It was blatant and ridiculous. SDST No. 42 could have fouled out within 2 minutes of entering the game. It looked to me like her sole purpose in this game was to beat up on Ta'Shia. I hate when refs don't call fouls on smaller players because they think the bigger player isn't bothered by having opposing players climbing on her back or holding her arms.

That is something that Ta'Shia has lived with all her career. it was especially evident in the last dayton game, even Jim Jabar remarked after the game how his girls were "hanging all over" T the whole game.
Ta'Shia was pointing it out while the game was on, and in between plays, She got a few, and had an incredible game. Kudos to her for keeping her head during all this, a lesser player would have blown up long ago, She is really able to keep her head in the game, and not let the opponents take her out of her mind set.
More proof of how great a player she really is.

Great meeting you too Coaster, it's nice to put a face to an online friend finally. You are a great Xavier fan! I felt truly blessed to have such great seats, and to be able to sit so close to Sister Rose, introduced her to my daughter who is at Mt St Joe now, Sister Rose's school!

Also wanted to mention Amber, and the outstanding game she had, It's fun to watch her fit soe many different roles, positions on the team. Shen T goes to the bench, Amber goes back to the basket and posts up, other times she plays her power forward spot, then steals a few and goes coast to coast for a shot. Just amazing.
The only disappointment, was more in her mind for certain than the rest of us, she had 2 opportunities for dunks late in the game, both just a centimeter short. I'm sure she really wanted to do it to give the fans a good show. Believe me Amber, we got a great show! But a dunk or two tuesday night would be awesome! try going 2 handed!
