Fantastic! Great to see another A10 team get deep into the tourney!
WTG Spiders! Now come on Temple!

With Temple down two, the A-10 could have a good March. Two Sweet 16 teams?!? That'd be sweet for the A-10.
Nicely done, Richmond.

Normally I would be all for 2 Sweet Sixteen teams, but I'm a fan of this SDSU team, so I hope the Owls lose.
Well done Spiders!
Go Owls.
Dayton sucks.

I hear ya, but a win is like, what, $1.4 million for the conference? It'll be nice to have an extra $2.8 million if both teams get into the Sweet 16. All it does is help the A10.
Well done Spiders!
Go Owls.
Dayton sucks.
Great post. My sentiments exactly. Someone help a bearded brother out and rep this man.

Temple should be winning. Unofficially I think they've missed a thousand layups.

Under-estimation is certainly your strong point. You're too kind to the Owls.

Temple should have won that game. Missed layups in the second half, poor shot selection in overtime.

Temple was just too tired in the second OT. They started 1/7 in that OT period. The made basket was a fast-break lay up and the rest were all jump shots, and all were short. Every. One. Was. Short.
Temple just ran out of gas.

I don't think it was gas. They had legs on the other end. They slowed it down too much, and didn't have enough motion to create good shots. I thought Dunphy did a poor job of coaching the last 11 minutes.

I am happy that the Spiders advanced, its always good to see an A10 in the second weekend, just wish it was us instead. However, i think we can say goodbye to Richmond as a threat for awhile because they are graduating a lot of guys and Mooney just earned himself a nice new job with run by Richmond.

Completely agree. Uncharacteristically bad coaching by Dunphy in the OT periods. When what you are doing isn't working, you have to try something else.

Temple was DEAD in that 2nd overtime. Emotional high and then came crashing down.

Richmond reminds me of the 2004 Muskies. There, I've said it. They've got one freak of nature (Sato/Harper), a scoring PG on a complete tear (Chalmers/Anderson), and a coterie of good role players, all of whom can shoot. Like the Muskies, they had a disjointed early season but came together toward the end and streaked through the conference tournament (even beating Dayton in the final).
I wouldn't be that suprised if they progressed further.

Congratulation Spiders!
and Nice Try Owls. Looks like they got tired as the game and OT's progressed. My son said that the difference between being a 2 seed and playing a cup cake in Round 2 while Temple played a solid Penn State team in a close game.

I agree with you but they have a bit of a tougher road to get to the Elite 8 compared to X in '04 only because they would have to play the 1-seed sooner. X didn't have to play the #1 seed in the region until that Elite 8 game. Here's pulling for Illinois over Kansas to make the road a little easier for the Spiders.
